Warsaw Praga for me this morning. Nice run if you are ever in these parts - lots of red squirrels frolicking in the autumnal colours in the shadow of Poland’s national stadium. Just a gentle jog for me which won’t bother the leaderboard, hopefully all ready for the main event tomorrow.
I also won my age category at Lancing this morning. 14th overall in 21:55 - that wind was horrible! I’ve only run Lancing once before, last November and finished in exactly the same time - 21:55. How’s that for consistency?!
Yay SB at last today with 21:15 and 71.14% at Hove Park. Feels good with two weeks to go until warsaw marathon.
Was looking at a Warsaw parkrun on the Saturday - they have a Hunger Games themed one where last week it was reported 10 runners died! Might go for one of the other ones in the city...
21:30 and 19th out of 269 at Congleton in Cheshire for me this morning. Nice flat course, three times round a lake - not as picturesque as I was anticipating. Happy enough after arriving late last night with a 90 min deviation due to the M6 being shut!
Still knocking on the SB door but not quite...
I stayed there a couple of years ago. Ski in/out is a really nice feature. Easy access to St Anton and Lech/Zurs either skiing or bus (you have to pay for Lech/Zurs but it’s quicker).Don’t miss out on going up the Valluga for the views. They are also currently rebuilding the rickety lift to the...
Some terrifyingly quick runners in those pics when I look at some of those being left behind whom I would regard as super quick!
Continued my recuperation with a steady 20 km this afternoon. Fairly happy as i’d already done a five mile hike earlier in the day, the run included 250m of climbing...
love Austria - in fact here is the view of St Anton from my hotel room...right now! Imagine that covered in snow!
Soëlden is a good bet - high up two major lifts up to skiing areas - free buses to Hochgurgel/Obergurgel but cheaper and has more restaurants etc
Not had a great week! After my fall last Sunday (from which I thought I had just about recovered enough to run), I now seemed to have picked up food poisoning, spent all last night throwing up and felt awful all day today! I blame a dodgy turkey salad I had for lunch yesterday.
And the BA strike...
Argh! Tripped up on the Downs this morning. Made it home and now smothered in savlon and an ice pack on the golf ball limo that is sitting on my knee! Lucky nothing worse but shows how easy it is tor it to all go wrong suddenly!!!
21:27 at Hove Park, just two seconds off an SB abut my best time at Hove Park since January 2017. Think I should be close to 21 mins on a flat course but I’m away for next couple of weeks and will be running in the Alps instead.
Kerry sounds fantastic knocky1 and best wishes to ben Elton’s...
Ventured ‘oop north’ this morning to avoid the wind. Was heading for East Grinstead only for the A23 to be closed about four vehicles in front of us to allow recovery of an over turned car. After waiting about 20 mis, one lane was reopened allowing us to squeeze past and divert to closer...
With that south westerly you could get blown up the hill very nicely - and the good thing is you are sheltered from the wind on the other side of the park.
Stayed in the Marriott Hotel at Twickenham.
Great view flying over Philadelphia Eagles ground once.
And most notably ran along hill overlooking Whitehawk’s Ground last Sunday!
