[Albion] Opposition red cards in the PL

Seeing James get a red last night was a bit of a shock - it doesn't seem to happen too often at the Amex. Since we got promoted I can only recall three opposition red cards: Ndidi, Madison and that Man City LB (Cancelo?). It seems rather low, am I missing one or two? We've had at least six...

[Football] Clubs to Vote on VAR removal

Where are all the supporters of VAR begging it to stay? I remember polls before it was introduced and I, who was against it from the start, was very much in the minority. About 60 to 70% of NSCers were in favour - they're being very quiet.

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

... but are being prevented from increasing their revenue by a government block on high-paying overseas students. If you compare yourself to a supermarket, it would like the government saying to Aldi that you can't take customers from Dyke Rd Avenue, the area around Preston Park and the best...

Toss up between the 4-1 against Chelsea and the 2-1 against Wednesday - atmosphere at both was incredible

Is there a chance that they could crash into the Bat & Ball and cause thousands of pounds worth of improvements?

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

As mentioned earlier, state pension has been defined as a benefit since 1946 - that's in your entire lifetime :lolol:

[Albion] Brighton v Chelsea highlights 1973

Not seen that before; I had a Saturday job then, so only went to evening games and Sunday kick-offs - 1973, 1974 and the first half of 1975 were no-nos (which meant that I did miss the Bristol Rovers 8-2) Both of Chelsea's disallowed goals looked OK to me, particularly the second - Baldwin was...

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

There's a big gap between these though. The state pension was defined as a benefit in the National Insurance Act of 1946, it's a bit late to be objecting to that

[Politics] Natalie Elphic defects to labour

This is surely even more damaging to the Tories. Buckland has sat on this information for four years. It was a very strange admission to make

    [Film] RIP Roger Corman

Loved his series of Poe films - very stylish. But probably remembered as a mentor for so many other directors, what an influence he had

Yeah, not having Bland in a team of greatest fielders is a bit like not including Pele in an all time best football team: the guy was a freak

I'm a Lewes Priory member and I can confirm that we lose a lot of balls over that boundary. I shudder to think how many we'd lose if Fignon's Ponytail's lad was still playing for us :lolol: . I always make sure I'm bowling from the Lewes end when I turn my arm over. Interesting question about...

    [Drinking] Tip your barstaff!

My son is a bar supervisor in a nightclub. I was staggered when he told me that he regularly gets £40 to £60 a night in tips. He works long hours so he deserves some appreciation but that's a handy sum of money of top of his wages.

I managed to strain my achilles reffing a rugby match last Saturday, so a few weeks off for me. I'm still seething after getting my first ever golden 🦆 in the last match of 2023. Good luck to everyone playing this weekend, I can only envy you
