I'd never listened to Gram Parsons as I'd always thought he was one of those drippy country singers, a sort of solo version of The Eagles. Then one day, I heard Grievous Angel and was bowled over - this guy was a great songwriter with a fantastic voice. What a loss he was
I didn't go to Rome, Villa, Fulham or Luton, so the worst moment for me was Solly's injury - you could tell it was a bad one almost immediately. Not only that, we were getting back into the game when he was injured and taking the game to City, it was a devastating blow.
I voted no - not because I think he's not good enough for us, but because he wouldn't come to us in a million years. I want B&B to be concentrating on realistic targets. The earlier we get someone on board, the earlier we can plan for next season - let's not waste time going down blind alleys...
I had a week in Las Vegas and a week in Dubai for work and they were two of my worst business experiences - I can't begin to imagine what would possess anyone to holiday in either places,
Love France. I've been there pretty much every year for 50 years. I've had holidays, weekend aways, day trips (even a day trip to Paris) and work trips. I can count instances of rudeness on the fingers of one hand - a few grumpy sods in Paris - but generally found nothing but friendliness...
Great win today. Next game is the last with Robbo (and, I believe, Seales and Pujara). We really need to win that and get a head start on the rest of the pack. I still think we need to strengthen the batting - Clark hasn't come off and I think that Simpson is place too high. We could drop...
I went up to that London last night, completely forgetting that a friend's band was playing. It was funny coming back from The Smoke and seeing so many groups of musicians on the platform, getting the train back.
Once again, we're struggling when Pujara and Haines fail - there's a real fragility in our line up (yes, I know Simpson's made a double ton and Lamb has got runs) but that's after the top order has blunted the attack). We need someone a bit tougher in the middle order.
We need to look at opener...
Well, Atlee is frequently voted the best PM of the 20th century and he was completely charisma free ("A modest man, with much to be modest about"). I think we've had enough strutting popinjays.
Sterling work again Joey. I mixed up Bissouma and Caicedo, I remember his sending off, a high kick accidentally caught someone in the gob.
So, seven home red cards against four away at the Amex. I bet there aren't many clubs with twice as many home sendings off as away ones
LOved last season and the giddyingly high position in the league. I loved the European nights at the Amex but the one Euro away game I went to (Marseille) was on par with the Palace 5-0 as the worst experience I've had watching the Albion (and I've been to Oldham). If we get to Europe again...
So, who were our 17? Five for Dunk. Then - Caicedo against someone (?), Dahoud against Sheff U, Duffy against Palace, ,Gilmour against Everton, Knocky against Bournemouth, Lamptey against Newcastle (?), Propper against someone (?), Sanchez against Huddersfield (?) and Stephens against Leicester...
Thanks Joey, that's comprehensive - I'd forgotten Lundstrum but that was a game I didn't attend so it was reasonable not to remember.
We're not a particularly dirty team so it's a bit surprising to see that we have so many more reds than the opposition has had
Wasn't that at Molineux? Wolves had a player sent off there this season too.
We've had a quite a few more at opposition grounds but I was thinking specifially about the Amex
