One other important tip: they only serve low alcohol beer (unless in the posh seats). If you drink a lot of it, all it will do is make you need the loo a lot. I had to recalibrate my typical cricket going experience and save the drinking for the evening
I did the same Tests in 2005/6 and by the time I landed in Oz we’d lost the series. So my biggest tip would be to get out there in time for the 3rd Test!
Oh, and it was the coldest Boxing Day on record and I ended up having to buy a Cricket Australia top. So take a hoody!
I had a similar conversation with a similarly real life Leeds fan. The one he’s gutted about losing is Archie Gray. Said of Rutter ‘he’s either brilliant or totally rubbish and there’s nothing in between’. He can’t believe we spent £40m on him.
I’m expecting a similar trajectory to Barco - loan back till Jan, then a few cameos second half of the season. Hopefully without the need for a loan next season though…
I tend to treat our club estimates of return dates like I do estimates on timeframes from builders. At least double it, and maybe more than that. For some reason always seems to take longer than anticipated!
Positionally it seems like he’s effectively replaced Buononotte. So my bar is whether he is an upgrade on him. He can’t do anything about the fee we paid (which does seem extraordinarily high).
If we are done, it’s been a very odd transfer window. Some amazing signings, even if most are already crocked, a mind boggling amount of money spent and yet we still seem to have left ourselves light in CM. And quite a few I expected to leave (Igor, Lamptey, Peupion) seem not to have done.
Looking at how the impact was and the ankle went, I suspect it’s something similar to what I did (although mine was my ankle going over a step at Wembley when someone jumped on me celebrating Pickfords penalty shootout save 😂 ). I had a grade 3 ligament rupture which basically means the ligament...
It’s a disgraceful tackle, almost certainly deliberate, and there’s been zero contrition from the player himself. Only a ham fisted apology from the manager who sent him out there to put in some ‘reducers’. It’s also noteworthy since (thankfully) those kind of leg breaker challenges are quite...
I agree with this. I think the plan was for him to be back up to Wieffer, but possibly the only upside of the MOR injury is if it gives the chance for more minutes for Baleba.
