I'll be going to a citizenship ceremony next week, for a member of my team I sponsored to work in the UK and have been helping him through UK bureaucracy. I've not been to one before, but I'm interested to see both what it is like and who the other 29 people getting it at the same time will be...
We haven't blow it, we've had a wonderful season. But we're playing more games than any other team apart from Manchester City now and we haven't got their resources.... so the games are catching up on us.
I don't get a survey (as, I guess, I'm not as season ticket holder) but I would be disappointed if the travel subsidy were removed. I use it on the buses and trains every time I go.
It would make going by car more likely for me as I would face charges however I got there, but with more people...
Makes sense to do (some of) the away fans first, as they are always standing anyway and they don't pay for season tickets.
Much more difficult to do the NS as some will have to move... I realise I don't think I've been in there since 2019, so I don't know what it's like now... are there more...
Used to go with people I knew in the 90s and tend to go with my wife (also an Albion fan) now. But when our children were little I often went to games on my own from 2001 to the mid 2010s, usually away games as we lived in the Midlands.
It can be quite nice to go on your own, but I can't say I...
Yes, that's my takeaway, too. I was waiting for 23/24 membership to go on sale, so it's my own fault for not getting this year's one.
Oh well, we will be going to the Everton game instead; hope the semi final has a better result than 2019; hope it's a great day for everyone going.
Yes, that's got me. I didn't have membership for two years (I didn't go to any matches for two years, either) until mid March, but just the wrong side of the cut-off date, so no option to buy.
Been in the wrong section myself on a few occasions and always hated doing it. No problem with people who want to be there that much - all I'd ask is that they be polite and friendly with it.
On the plus side I tend to record and then fast forward through MoTD to get to the matches, so it looks like today this will be done for me.
The only way this will be resolved is by the BBC agreeing what standards they expect from all their contracted workers (whether contracted via a company...
Can't say I've followed every aspect of this, but surely the reason all the other commentators have stopped work is because GL has been told to take some time off. Otherwise there is no point in them taking supporting action, as there would be nothing to protest against.
Yes, I would guess it depends on his contract - and that's not public as far as I know. I do think the BBC have rather stupidly backed themselves into a corner with this. I would imagine any contract would mostly be about not criticising the BBC rather than the government.
Having foolishly made...
Got my tickets this morning; we got two tickets not quite next to each other, so will be asking the person in the middle of us if they mind moving one seat...
Not a sensible decision: but I admit I don't know what is in his contract. If my employer tells me I can't do certain things (and most do) then I don't do those things. But no idea if that is the case here.
One of the (few) advantages of living in the Midlands was being able to get to midweek games like this; too far now unless I take a couple of days off work. Good luck to all who are going!
