My ones at university have missed out on a lot due to the pandemic. One of mine went to their first ever lecture in person last week and was surprised at how different it was from online.
And the social experiences are even worse for them IMO - they've been conditioned to sit in their rooms...
I thought the Spurs announcement was decent and sensitive; it appreciated why the chant started and went out of its way to praise those fans who began it in the 70s and 80s. And then it suggested that the chant had had its day now. They will gradually increase the pressure against it until it...
Never understood the pitch invaders over the last twenty years - during the game that is, at the end sometimes it is understandable in rare circumstances - because surely they are going to be banned. Is that really how they want to end their involvement with football?
I guess it all gets too...
It was a great day - pretty foggy during the game - but it got an atmosphere going that we kept hold of for the rest of the season. Lovely to see all the different colours of course.
What happens in one small town (especially) in the south west gradually filters through further into the region. The only way to stop it is to restrict house sales to locals (see: https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/padstow-ban-second-home-owners-4939299, but also see...
We moved last year, just missing out on the stamp duty giveaway. It was clear that decent places were running away from us up in price as we looked from Feb 2021 until the late summer.
Under those conditions you can either decide to not move at all (and be better off) or go for it. So we did it...
Not a chance of me getting to all the games, but I'd be happy to commit to around a quarter/third of the season. The trouble is that I don't know which games I can go to far in advance.
Then also the way that people are likely to want to go to the "big" games means that any season ticket is...
Watford have a plan and any potential manager knows what they are getting into. If Premier League they have 10 games or so (Ranieri lasted much longer than they normally do) to win. And if they do win enough of those, any further ten game spell without success means the sack.
I don't mind players celebrating in front of home fans; it's part of the game. But don't they confiscate bottle tops at Everton? I assumed they did that everywhere.
I don't really get this - surely if she went out there with a band and sang some songs people would have been happy. It didn't need to be a "show". Why not just say "for the first shows we are doing a low-key no-frills performance"..?
(I admit I know little about her and her music - so maybe...
From a low base and after a season of being locked out. I think the authorities will get a handle on this and it won't get worse from this point.
The low point was probably the Euro Final - I would hope and expect lessons to have been learned since then.
If you are talking about claiming additional tax relief on a pension, the HMRC notes are here: https://www.gov.uk/tax-on-your-private-pension/pension-tax-relief
The notes within the SA part themselves are fairly clear about what you need to put in for the figures at that point.
A draw with us going away to a lower league team would be best, I think. Yes there would be the chance of a "giant killing", but better playing with a crowd that cares (as well as our own magnificent support) would make a better game. And we would have a good chance of getting through.
Just not...
No - sorry - I will look now. Busy times mean I'm not on here for long and read the first few posts of a topic...
Absolutely agree about the trial. The jury were there and (thankfully) I was not. I really don't envy those on a jury.
In a pedantic mode I would say that everyone on earth is very likely to have slavey in their ancestors and to also have been slave owners as well. Not if we define slavery as only occurring in the western world in the last few centuries of course - but slavery and serfdom has been common...
