I live in Southampton and nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see them PLUMMET down the leagues.
The rabid entitlement of their fans when they were in League One with us was a sight to behold
"We are a Premier League club"
No you're not mate, you're in League One. You might get...
Not a failure in so far as the pitch was 'playable' but a massive failure in that we lost the game 2-1 against Crystal Palace.
Here's the machine in action
15 December 1945. Albion 4 Walthamstow Avenue 2
FA Cup 2nd round, 2nd leg
The first leg was 1-1, so Albion won 5-3 on aggregate.
This was an 'interim' season to allow things to return to normal after WW2.
Doing my piece for next week's programme and came across this FANTASTIC picture of the 3rd round replay from 1983.
Newcastle were all over us and ref Trelford Mills disallowed 2 goals for them. Here's Kevin Keegan having a quiet word with him after one of the decisions.
Marvellous scenes
Here's the programme from the first game.
Full scans of this and the others in the series that I have, are here:

Am I pissed off with the application of VAR - absolutely yes
Am I falling out of love with football/Albion - absolutely not.
Football has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember anything and I would have it any other way. I still 100% love the game. VAR isn't the problem...
