[Albion] Referee Sunny Sukhvir Gill (v Sheffield United)

Just because I believe Gill did us a big favour against Sheffield doesn’t mean I’m a Chelsea , Palace or Sheff Utd fan. Just think that the 5-2 win flattered us and our result against Luton proved that. And maybe when we get dicked by Palace then the alarm bells might start to resonate.

[Albion] Palace game are you shitting yourself?

Definitely squeaky bum time - especially as they’ve just signed Adam Wharton. I’ve seen him a few times for Blackburn and he’s decent.

Two Virgil van Dyke penalties tonight not given - both far more certain than our first against Sheffield on Saturday. Underlines the point I’m making , Gill was naive and inexperienced . But I’ll take it . Wish we’d had him last night

Good points , I’d have Silva or Moyes ahead of him

[Albion] Stop the catastrophizing right now

Is it too late to sell Dunk ?

At least I think we’ve enough points to stay up

Wow- such animosity. I thought Gill was poor - and so did Wilder I thought the penalties were soft - but can understand why they were given as it’s very subjective And I think Taylor is a decent referee - and this will probably be backed up with who we send to the Euros as our representative...

Only Lewis knows what he said to Taylor, but when he’s shown a yellow for dissent and then carries on - is that Taylor being petulant or Dunk being stupid? Maybe I’m too impartial

I tend to agree with you , but we can’t have players going down at the first feel of contact. There has to be an effort to stay on your feet and keep playing . But I agree players now coached to dive - case in point on Saturday, and every other Saturday .

Wrong on all counts except the VAR. I agree with you there - Salisbury is useless

I thought Taylor did ok when we played at Forest- probably PL best ref , I know that’s not saying much at the moment

Just saying that some clubs have made surrounding the ref into a tactic - Man Utd under Fergie was a prime example. And not every bit of contact results in a penalty. Maybe I’m the only impartial Albion fan on here? But my main point was that he looked an inadequate ref when you compare him to...

No, I wasn’t at the game. So will bow to your better view. Though I again would say, just because fans appeal for a handball , doesn’t mean it’s given - otherwise we’d be having penalties galore. All I’m saying is that he looked a real inexperienced referee that was swayed by appeals from...

Didn’t realise that you needed to be on a forum to be a committed Albion fan.

First one, yes there’s contact but not enough for a penalty and then a crude dive which I thought we’d pick up a yellow for simulation. Second, you’ve got to be 100% to give a penalty otherwise they’d be a dozen each game, the reply went back and forth and still they couldn’t decide whether it...

Whilst I thought we deserved to win I thought the ref had a shocker. I expected both our penalties to get over turned. I’ll be surprised to see that ref make it to the PL on that performance - other than if the FA want to be seen to be promoting Asian refs - which is a good thing , just not that...
