[Albion] The 2023-24 (Last Season!) Loanee Tracker Thread

Wow I really thought we sold Matt Clarke some time ago!

Maybe @El Presidente can answer (he's probably too busy these days frolicking around on Football Weekly), but do clubs have to pay capital gains tax, or VAT on player sales? For example Cucurella may have been €45m profit on paper, but do we lose a % of that to tax?

To get our money back would be fantastic. Put a sell on clause in there, even better.

[Albion] Valentín Barco **Season Loan To Sevilla 23/08/24**

He says he plays in midfield and then compares his stats to other left backs. He's in the 99th PERCENTILE for chances created. Yeah no shit, because he's being compared to full backs and there's about 19 of them in the league.

[News] WW3 anyone know the kick off date and time yet ?

Iran, Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas, Russia and possibly China and India piling in. Contra Israel, USA and a coalition of 'Western' nations. The doomsday clock is being updated in a few days, I imagine it'll be closer to midnight than at any time before. It just takes one wrong move by a stupid...

To be fair, Kane was awful when he was 18. Even at 22 he didn't seem like he would play at a high level, then suddenly something clicked. But yes, to say Ferguson is anywhere near Kane's current level is absurd.

[Albion] Mahmoud Dahoud (Loaned to VfB Stuttgart 31/01/24)

Surely a good opportunity for some Hiney art.

[Albion] Jack Hinshelwood [9/4/24: new deal to 2028]

All the numbers are examples to make my point. But anecdotally I'd say it holds up.

Your intuition is a bit off I think. If 10% of our squad have footballing dad's, compared to the national average of 0.001% (or whatever) of people that have footballing dad's, it shows having a footballing dad really does increase your chances of making it professionally by quite a large amount.

Sorry, did he really score from kick off TWICE?? How have I not seen that before.

[NSC] Tie off vote for new competition

So a chocolate digestive is a cake because it has chocolate? What about a jammy dodger, surely a cake with all that sweet, sweet jam inside.

Agreed, a nice change to the media trained bores we usually have to endure as co commentators or pundits.

[Albion] Anyone know if the boys are out in Dubai yet?

Aren't they right next to the sea though? Not too hard to believe they have desalination plants. I dislike that region as much as the next man but using water is hardly their worst crime.

We could be linked with John Smith and someone would still post this joke

That's like me telling my boss I'd get more work done if I could nip off to the pub for 2 hours a day.
