Artie: "I was out in Budapest for a week working on our big TV music awards." This must be the coolest thing anyone has ever posted on this thread, surely?
Get well soon!
Every now and then you wonder if this mob could get any worse. And then they do. No-one could argue that this is a government that doesn't deliver. It's what they deliver that's the problem.
Oh that's bad news. It certainly seems a long time ago that I was chasing you (unsuccessfully) along a sunny Worthing prom. You are without doubt getting some miles in your legs.
Yes, the birthday looms and all being well the 1st January will be my first post-birthday event.
Checked out the Crowborough 10k/5k (a race I last did in 1989!) and saw that they were taking entries on the day, so entered the 5k. Nice enough run but with a brute of a hill in the last 2k. At least on the 5k we only had to do this once. Managed a 23.11 (course was a bit long) but this was...
Back running after a 3 weeks break. Worthing had a large and fast set of runners today - 11 with AGs over 80%. My 21.06 (80.25%) was better than expected so really chuffed.
Channel 4 this evening 20.30, 'Dispatches: Did Brexit Work for Business?' Looking forward to the in-depth interviews with our very own Footie Genius, Baker Lite and other experts.
Blimey, lads. One whole week since the last posting. Is this a record?
Not that I've got anything to report as the foot is not ready for a run yet. I did a stint as a marshal on Saturday.
Which was nice.
I wouldn't claim this as a universal truth, but I've often thought that in many spheres of life there's a threshold beyond which 'taking the piss' kicks in. I really think that this crowd, esp. Johnson, went through this barrier during the 'get Brexit done' period and have been in freefall ever...
Still awaiting something - anything! - of substance to be lobbed over from that side of the fence. It doesn't seem to have progressed much since the days of the 'undemocratic loons' or '5th Columnists' insults..
The latest Cummings' disclosures reveal that our beloved leader simply didn't...
Thanks for the heads-up on this. I'm going to watch on catch up. BTW Campbell was very good on the Daily Politics earlier this week: he totally duffed up the terminally smug Tim Loughton.
Of course it's now painfully apparent that there are virtually no winners from Brexit (other than maybe some of the super-rich offshoring their assets) but it still surprises me how many were simply duped into voting for it and have been badly let down. Take the Welsh:52.5%/47.5% vote in favour...
Not much substantive stuff on Brexit coming frm that side of the fence these days. A tacit admission that the argument is lost, perhaps? On which note I see that our 'world leading recovery' from Covid has stalled somewhat. You'd have to look long and far to find any positives of Brexit - blue...
Johnson went (back) into potential super-spreader mode yesterday when he visited the hospital - so as to avoid turning up in the Commons - without wearing a mask. Given that NHS is now committed to dismissing staff that don't get the jab, maybe we could extend this to politicians who won't wear...
