I like this idea, but I think it should be applied once for each charge they're found guilty of. So they could start each season on -70 points for the next 115 years.
That was a really good explanation from everyone's favourite Dullard. Made much more sense to me than the Guardian article I'd read moments beforehand. Thanks.
He's kicked on sensationally in the last 12-18 months, it's been glorious to see. He was legitimately behind Colwill when we had him, and it doesn't feel like that long ago that JPvH's name on the team sheet would make me feel a bit nervy. Now it's more like "we'll be alright, Van Hecke's...
I've seen an increase of people here and elsewhere calling him "Pedro" as if that's his surname. I feel like I'm going a bit mad, because I thought I understood this but now I feel like I don't at all. Does anyone here know how Brazilian Portuguese names work, because I suspect I don't?
My...
We definitely could have won that. But I prefer to look at it this way -- whichever part of the table we're competing in this season, it's unlikely that any of the teams around us will be getting a point from their away game at Arsenal. On that basis it's definitely a point gained.
My guess (and it is only a guess) is that it takes time to find the best loan environment for each player and the people who arrange our loans simply use the time available to them. My work is deadline-based. If I'm done early, I use the "extra" time to make sure everything's perfect.
There's...
My guess is that their manager sent them out with instructions to rough our players up a bit at the start, not realising or understanding that a mindless thug like Jay Williams would hear "go out there and cause a serious injury to someone". That would make them both responsible imo. But like...
Except that if you look for any clips of Jay Williams playing, this seems to be his entire game. He's in the team -- captaining the team -- with a remit to cause serious injuries to opposition players.
Maybe that doesn't tell us anything about the town, but it does tell as a lot about the club...
Part of the reason I got so angry about this was seeing Crawley fans and coaches online gloating about the tackle and damage it caused.
I don't think it's right to gloat about any professional sportsperson suffering a significant injury. But I'll definitely make an exception if it happens to...
Crawley Town have now joined the very short list of clubs for whom I'd feel zero sympathy if they went out of business (the only other clubs on that list are Chelsea and MK Dons -- edit to clarify, Palace are *not* on that list for me, believe it or not).
So many players never get back to their...
Did we have a "x million down the drain, Lewis Dunk strikes again" chant celebrating how often he injures opposing players?
Fouls are inevitable. Two-footed lunges on a player's ankles are not, and having a player in your team whose only role is to do that says a lot about the club imo.
Didn't he pick up something like 16 yellows and a red last season? That suggests he *was* playing his normal game, and something needs to be done about him before he ends someone's career
I don't recall Calderon gloating about the damage he'd caused, like Williams did. I don't recall our fans celebrating the injury to an opponent like Crawley's fans have been doing all night and all day. And I certainly don't recall any of our coaches or anyone else with a position at the club...
I'd honestly be okay with us only ever playing reserves against lower-league teams in the FA Cup and not entering the Carabao Cup at all.
I wouldn't have said that before last night.
