So CPFC have selected their first team tonight. Interesting call, given they play Chelsea on Sunday.
Paper thin squad I guess or maybe they’re practicing a three games a week gig in preparation for their much talked about 2025/2026 European tour…
How exciting for you.
We’ve got one or two of those…
Hinshelwood
Verbruggen*
Ayari*
Sarmiento*
Enciso*
Baleba*
Ferguson*
Gruda
Adingra*
Joao Pedro*
Rutter
Minteh*
Cozier-Duberry
Yalcouyé
Barco*
Buonanotte*
Osman*
All, I repeat, all are under 23.
(* already full internationals).
Late to the party but thank you @AZ Gull, terrific knowledge and a great read.
Simmonds and Howells seem to be the most talked about, but great that the talented is spread across so many. Would love to see Simmonds step up and ultimately take over from Dunky as and when!
Sure you’ll have money in the bank for him, but who’s now the back up to Henderson? I always thought Johnstone was better.
Presume you’ll drop cash on Ahamada though…
His content has just been served up on my X “For you” feed. I would say definitely a troll, and one that has amassed a whole 32 followers now. If he’s not a troll, then he needs some help with life.
Also he doesn’t seem to know the difference between “contempt” and “content” (as in happy)...
Minteh. He’s very much a work in progress and needs to start playing with his head up but his pace will terrify most defences and his work rate is epic. Give him an hour and then let Simon A (or Georgi or Gruda) take over.
What a lovely problem to have!
Cat got your tongue, Dougal?
At least you won’t need to spend a day in the passport office now. Mind you, you might get Wrexham away this time next year and that’s on foreign (ish) soil.
We’re all exhausted!!! I can’t take another cliffhanging transfer thriller…I dread to think what my iPhone will tell me on Monday re my screen time usage!
Fair point. But my comments transcend transfers. He breaks no news at all and his longer pieces just aren’t insightful…I can’t recall the last time he told us anything we didn’t already know.
Spot on. He never breaks any news and is, in effect, an extension of the club’s press office.
What is equally disappointing with him is that he doesn’t write any incisive profile or opinion pieces. He just aggregates “known knowns”.
Not by name, no, but he does state that more signings are “expected”.
Naylor doesn’t speculate on specifics and that is seemingly part of the Faustian pact he has with the club.
