I am a fan of the safe standing rails in areas where standing occurs anyway, always nice to have something to lean on. I view it more as a comfort issue than an atmosphere, increasing capacity issue. I'm in the WSU but I'd be more than happy to see safe-standing in the North Stand.
In the UK my longest trip was to see The Atom Seed in Aberdeen (then Edinburgh & Glasgow).
I've been to gigs in the States but they were more part of the trip than the reason for going. Watching Soundgarden playing the Louder than Love album in a record shop in Portland a particular highlight...
The key to all social media is curating your contacts. I'm still on Twitter but many friends of mine have left it or have never used it. I use it for sport, mainly the Albion and the Washington Commanders for which it is brilliant. I also use it for politics and follow loads of left-wing posters...
City undoubtedly in a bit of funk right now. They have not been the powerhouse of previous seasons, so I would say this is a good time to play them. We have to make the most of these windows of opportunity. Hurzeler was suitably disappointed that we did not make the most of our first half...
Just popping on this thread to acknowledge that I called this badly wrong. My inherent belief in the innate goodness of people has ignored the evidence of the past decade and the solid shift rightwards in political discourse. I have lots of thoughts about this, but today is not the day to try...
Born in Barnet. Parents were Spurs fans. First Cup final I watched was in 1975, everyone wanted Fulham to win except for my uncle who supported West Ham so went for them to be different to the rest of the room. Grew up supporting the Hammers and going along to watch Barnet at Underhill.
Fast...
I'm enjoying Shrinking at the moment. Jason Segal and Harrison Ford as psychiatrists doesn't sound like much of a pitch but it is really neatly written and I actually give a sh*t about the characters.
All within the margin of error, so basically statistical ties. Not much to see here. My gut still says Harris by more than people think. The Dems have been playing this from behind for the whole campaign. Feet are on the ground, doors are being knocked on and phones are being called, there is an...
It was hard getting songs going on Saturday. Luckily there was a vocal group near us in AL8 and we were able to make a contribution. The sound did seem to disappear into the ether though with the removal of the roof that was previously there. Absolutely stunned to hear there were Liverpool fans...
Just got back. I thought it was a terrific game and that we played really well. We should have gone into the break two or three up. Second half Liverpool and the rest of Anfield turned up and they got their reward for a dominant opening 20 minutes. Once went behind I thought we responded well...
Two great nights of Black Metal at Dust this week. Pretty decent crowd in for the locally promoted Abduction, Andracca and The Suffering gig Wednesday. On Thursday it was the turn of the Americans to come to town. Uada a band I have wanted to see ever since their debut album dropped a decade...
It's not a shitshow every game though is it? There were extenuating circumstances on Wednesday beyond the club's control, it's hardly the chickens coming home to roost. At weekends it's mostly pretty good, midweek it is more of a pain but rarely the bad situation that those attending the...
It's pretty much this. The lack of trains/carriages is problematic for midweek games. I have no problem with weekend games, in fact this season I think the weekend service has been pretty good. Midweek games I head out early and then head to Dicks after until closing time to leave the trains to...
Worthing is alright. Some cracking pubs, great football team and a nice seafront. It's definitely not Brighton and this is a good thing, wouldn't want them to be the same.
