Agree, been a couple of good ones near me. I just really dislike the placing of the affordable homes in one corner or at the entrance, especially when they are in a different style or construction method.
Are you my neighbour? I have objected to some planning applications in the past, mostly that the social housing is ghettoised or that afforable housing clearly isn't affordable. I also was part of the group that fought Tarmac's gravel extraction plans for sites that have previously been worked...
Thanks, and A1X. I didn't hear much detail. So these are cases that would have had a jury trial but this is quicker/cheaper. That seems quite dangerous to me and is a very large change in our legal system. I hope people will still get the option to go to crown court or this is sinister, if not...
I think this idea and its potential implementation could be a form of coercive control and undermines the principle of informed consent in treatment. I'm not against the idea, but it is rather like carbon capture - it works at the wrong end of the problem and only treats symptoms.
Had an awful journey home tonight but now I know whar Eastleigh looks like. On the radio it said that magistrates will be able to sentence people to up to a year in prison and this will help reduce a back log. They seem to have forgotten about trials being decided by a jury of peers. Am I the...
This is what what I was trying to say but makes sense. It's so helpful to hear real experiences. (y)
I also think it's a neccessary part of greater EV penetration as lots of local microgenerators and V2G or V2home can play a big part in balancing the grid. Probably not so much in high-density...
Do you want a long or short answer? I'd generally like my outgoings to be lower when I am older so reducing that has added value to me, also the notion of not being entirely dependent on the grid or price fluctuations. If I factor in an EV, which I am coming round to, and different requirements...
I agree, I think there would need to be some courtship first. I don't think most countries want their finances examined at the moment and we probably can't meet the requirements in any case. We could become Turkey without the sun.
Wouldn't we have to start negotiating terms first? Maybe, and I'm feeling generous today, they have been. I guess it's too long a project at this time and the conditions won't be as good, possibly to hard to sell now?
Me too. Do the Octopus PV+Battery thing on their website, I think you'll find the PV only array is cheaper than £10K. From memory, 20 panels (on multiple rooves) and 10kWh battery was around £13.5K in the summer. You'll probably get more back with a battery in cash terms, but it does seem to be...
FT cover this a lot. It seems that wealth managers have had increased inquiries, (behind paywall) https://www.ft.com/content/d34b9078-ab4e-4c7a-adf7-a5df81bba975
No figures on departures.
I've been planning the home solar for a long time and will make that leap in the spring, a car like the R5 seems to be the point that would bring it all together, £13.5KW is a pricey battery, and has just appeared. I thought I would have a stronger resistance, but I realise I rarely do 200+ mile...
I've changed my mind after reading about the Renault 5 EV, with a few caveats. £23-35K new, reasonable size/mass with decent range ~200 miles and does V2G. Combine this with Octopus Go type tarrif and solar PV you can have a smaller battery but still sensibly arbitrage, that saves a lot on the...
