Shame India’s Modi couldn’t find similar words to say on his visit to Moscow - just a weak statement about the unfortunate death of children and no condemnation of the bombing of the childrens’ hospital. But I suppose we can’t expect the hypocrite to jeopardise his cheap oil and arms deals.
Let’s hope it signals a gradual return to normal diplomatic relations with the west, distancing itself from Putin and resolving any questions around its nuclear intent and capability.
Good prediction: Orban met Putin today. Not surprisingly most of the EU nations aren’t happy. Whilst Orban’s visit wasn’t in the capacity of his new role as EU president, unfortunately perceptions will play into Putin’s hands. Orban is becoming a real pain in the butt.

As per other posts we used Sorrento as our base. Used the train to Pompeii and Herculanium, day trip to Capri by ferry. Car hire from Naples was fine but the roads on the Amalfi coast are narrow so don’t hire anything too big.
It worries me too that what started as a Central European issue could potentially escalate more broadly. Putin’s visit to N.Korea will worry S.Korea, Japan and others, likewise his visit to Vietnam (though Vietnam will likely tread a more cautious line). Throw in Cuba, Iran a few African states...
I sort of get (though detest) China and India’s position because they both have aspirations for territorial gains of their own. Don’t understand the rationale of others such as Mexico, though there’s bound to be financial and trade deals and other arm twisting going on behind the scene that’s...
I see that Orban shared a platform with Stoltenberg today where it was announced that Hungary wouldn’t be supporting the NATO effort in Ukraine……..but Hungary would otherwise remain a loyal and committed NATO member. So that’s all right then……
