    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

Shame India’s Modi couldn’t find similar words to say on his visit to Moscow - just a weak statement about the unfortunate death of children and no condemnation of the bombing of the childrens’ hospital. But I suppose we can’t expect the hypocrite to jeopardise his cheap oil and arms deals.

[Football] Frank Lampard - next England manager?!

Given his managerial record, Lampard’s next appointment is surely no higher than at Championship level or below

That’s an interesting post - not just the railway sabotage but all the other covert sabotage activity that’s been going on too.

They can have a bank holiday when they win it! Fair’s fair

    [News] Iran update.

Let’s hope it signals a gradual return to normal diplomatic relations with the west, distancing itself from Putin and resolving any questions around its nuclear intent and capability.

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

Good prediction: Orban met Putin today. Not surprisingly most of the EU nations aren’t happy. Whilst Orban’s visit wasn’t in the capacity of his new role as EU president, unfortunately perceptions will play into Putin’s hands. Orban is becoming a real pain in the butt.

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

I hear that Orban met Zelensky today, urging for peace. Possibly a sign of the direction of his stint as EU president, though his will hopefully be a lone voice.

Orban is no doubt hoping to be rewarded with that land, if Putin wins, for being his lap dog

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

If true I’d have thought it’s significant. I assumed that Serbia had continued to maintain reasonably close ties with Russia, albeit covertly. I know that Serbia (perhaps surprisingly) supported the UN resolution that condemned the Russian invasion, but supplying arms to Ukraine takes it to a...

[Travel] Amalfi / Positano / Capri

As per other posts we used Sorrento as our base. Used the train to Pompeii and Herculanium, day trip to Capri by ferry. Car hire from Naples was fine but the roads on the Amalfi coast are narrow so don’t hire anything too big.

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

It worries me too that what started as a Central European issue could potentially escalate more broadly. Putin’s visit to N.Korea will worry S.Korea, Japan and others, likewise his visit to Vietnam (though Vietnam will likely tread a more cautious line). Throw in Cuba, Iran a few African states...

Shouldn’t there also be the Iranian Ayatollah in the picture?….and a fence with Modi, Orban and others sitting on it

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

I sort of get (though detest) China and India’s position because they both have aspirations for territorial gains of their own. Don’t understand the rationale of others such as Mexico, though there’s bound to be financial and trade deals and other arm twisting going on behind the scene that’s...

I probably won’t go there as my doctor told me to stop w*nking. When I asked why she said it’s because she hadn’t finished examining me.

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

I see that Orban shared a platform with Stoltenberg today where it was announced that Hungary wouldn’t be supporting the NATO effort in Ukraine……..but Hungary would otherwise remain a loyal and committed NATO member. So that’s all right then……

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

Great. It would be good to see the back of a Putin sympathiser who seems to slow down the west’s support of Ukraine at every opportunity
