Yes….
Not rehashing the positives thread, but so pleased for Ferguson.
I thought Ferdi did really well as well, and think we look more balanced with him on the right.
Sure, happier with how we’re playing, but without Hughton keeping us in the division we would not be here….. and the means justified the end for me
I still want to win and agree with @nwgull and your point around trying something, I’m just saying, I wouldn’t have had a problem either if he’d...
Agree to a point, but this is a discussion forum, I doubt (hope) Wieffer will come on.
But I thought what was particularly impressive, was our supporters applauding him and the rest off the pitch, so in the main that started immediately.
Agree.
@Flounce will tell you, I’m happy with a 1-0 as much as a 3-1….
If the other team has ‘0’ you have a point…..
I’m in the win at all costs camp, and if it means going to the corner that’s fine.
Yes, said that in my first post on here.
I was struggling to find another as shocking….
Dunk back pass vs …….. erm…..Wolves
An uncharacteristic Bruno hoof, vs Someone like Preston….
Ulloa penalty
But sadly for Wieffer that pips them alll….
The positive is that the names I mentioned were/are...
It’s not about seeing the whole pitch on a break, whilst you do your best to ‘hold’ for as long as possible, to ensure you get numbers back, you simply have to engage if a player enters the area, ?Cunha needed to be closed down (by Igor), at that point he was about 4-5 yards away. Nowhere near...
He shouldn’t need instructions, its professional discipline…..
The pass/telegraphing of it was shockingly bad, but as per my initial post, why was he even there, when surely all he was told to do was sit?
There is no way in a million years Igor should be that far off, as soon as any forward enters the penalty area, you have to go towards them…..
Agree with the rest though……
Just watching MotD makes it feel so bad again…..
Will have to disagree then.
I see a player with time to take a free shot, because Igor had backed off too deep, he effectively made it easier. (It’s also easier to defend if he plays it right, because of JPvH).
The irony is that the shot wasn’t great, and I reckon Bart saves it if JPvH doesn’t...
Not significant blame, but as per my other post, Igor should have been a lot closer, he had way too much time.
You simply cannot back off to the penalty spot, you have to approach the attacking player, any half decent coach would tell you that.
It doesn’t excuse the ridiculous 4 on 1, but...
Igor absolutely, did not do well, he backed off to such an extent, it was an easier shot.
As soon as the Wolves player entered the area he should have been as close as possible, not continue to go backwards.
On the other hand he didn’t fall for the histrionics from Wolves after the first ‘head’ injury, and gave Veltman short shrift as well.
As for Mitoma, to be fair on Oliver that was more on his blind side, a couple of times in the second half.
I thought he was great 😃👍
Agree.
But, different level and intensity though.
There are lots of players who look good when you have more time and space. Personally, I would have brought on Adringa, but hindsight etc…..
There is no comparison to the PL, it’s harder and faster, as you mentioned other players have had to...
I hope you’re right re Gruda, but the tackle apart which set up the opportunity, I’m struggling with where you’ve seen regarding his touch, because I would say that couldn’t be further away from what I’ve seen. I would actually say it’s heavy, and the pace of the PL has completely caught him...
