They should never host the SUMMER Olympics. The winter ones they have hosted have been good, and Canadians only really give a shit about that one.
The commentary team is gash though. There's a former winter Olympian who just keeps talking about herself and which countries she's visited as they...
The commentators on CBC saying "they are setting a new standard with this opening ceremony"
I'm wondering if they've seen any previous opening ceremonies.
They had all these MLS shirts in the Adidas shop when I was there yesterday. They do look very nice up close.
In fact, they had most major club/country Adidas football shirts and they're so much better than the Nike ones.
I'm enjoying the Rugby 7s, especially with no commentary. I do like getting to hear everything the referees say and it's refreshing to see a good relationship between officials and players.
It depends on a number of factors, for me:
- If it's the opening post in a thread, I'm usually willing to read a few paragraphs. Assuming it's a subject matter I might be interested in.
- Similarly, if the thread only has a few replies I might read more.*
- If a thread already has a few pages...
A rare bit of village cricket here yesterday. There's a park not too far from me which has an artifical pitch. My partner and I went for a walk last night and there was a match on. We put a picnic blanket down, opened a couple of beers and watched for an hour or so. I tried my best to explain...
You could easily separate them:
One half of the draw: A1 vs B2 and C1 vs D2 the winners meet in the semi final
Other half: A2 vs B1 and C2 vs D1 the winners meet in other the semi final
I'm pretty sure that's how the Euros worked when it was 4 groups.
A great match. Canada had so many chances to win it in normal time and deserved to win.
No idea how they worked out the knockout draw though. Canada and Argentina were in the same group. It makes no sense they meet each other in the semi final.
