Two werewolves buy tickets for a home match at the AMEX

Turning up half an hour before kick off, one turns to the other and says 'There doesn't seem to be many people around at the moment.'

Worthing
I don’t get the joke and there are so many flaws in the story I don’t know where to start.

Same. Is there a joke hidden in there somewhere?
I have no idea what the joke is meant to be.
If there were a couple of werewolfs outside the ground would you hang about ?

Hence there not being many people around.

Hang on, why am I explaining the danger of being in proximity to werewolfs ?

It's a been a long day.

Two were wolves, I'll think you'll find. And 2 were wolves, what? What are they now? What were they before? Were they trying to emulate the fictional creature, the werewolf? Did they read they "hilarious" comments on here about the game being at home when it was actually away and got confused? Were they from Yorkshire so missed out the word "the" in the last sentence?

Thanks. I honestly didn't understand what you were aiming for.

I was looking at the "were wolfs" thing thinking is the deliberate difference from "werewolves" a clue? Then I was looking at the end line with "at moment" and was it something about missing the word "the" in that sentence?

I was obviously over thinking it!

Ahh! I think get it now!

Let me have a go:

Two werewolves buy tickets for a BASKETBALL game. Turning up half an hour before the game is due to start, one turns to the other and say, “There doesn’t seem to be many people around at the moment.”

And the other one says, “Yes. That’s because basketball is a really shit sport. We should have gone to the footballl instead.”
