Here you go. The Jalapeño and date, and Ghost pepper and mango are my favorites so far.

The Carolina reaper and blueberry at the bottom of the list is painful.

Ha. Yes, we did think that but as a couple we ordered a 2 and then a few beers down the hatch another 2…..saved fighting over the spare one!

Mexies are very popular here, but these ones were next level. They actual liquor itself was great but the slot glass rim had been dipped in a salty chili powder which gave it an extra kick. It’s also worth pointing out that the restaurant owner also has a chili sauce business which is very well known, he knows his stuff when it comes to spice and mixing flavors. I stocked up on some of these whilst there, I’ll find his flyer and show you (imho) very special sauces he makes.
Sounds amazing ... especially with the salty chilli powder. I did wonder if the 5th shot might cause 'problems'!

I love chilli/spice. Chilli sauces is the thing we always look out for at the farmers market in Shoreham.

If we go out with friends for a lunch, it's usually 4 starters, 4 mains, 4 ginger beers ( 2 drivers and 2 don't want to drink at lunchtime) and 10% service, so between £140 and £160 for a couple of hours in the pub/restaurant. If we go for a meal, it's a good chat over a nice meal that we didn't cook. We might have a tap water too, but doesn't seem unreasonable.

I’m not sure if already covered / debunked, but it’s not at all surprising that tap water is the most common single drink at a restaurant. Many people will order table water as well as other drinks when they go out for a meal. Near enough everybody I know does that, so when you look on the system it’s bound to be the most common.

Bottled soft drinks at wholesale are not cheap, so they are the worst profit lines - draught is better, but nowhere near as good as wine / spirits. If you run a bar / pub and sold mainly soft drinks, you wouldn’t last five minutes (*months)

I do love a good chili sauce as well. What I love about this guy is the ingredients he pairs the sauces with. Jalapeño and date is a brilliant combination, as is Scotch Bonnet and mango. The later maybe obvious, but the date one less so…but they work so well together.

I was in a craft beer bar last night, and the table of 3 sat next to us had a bottle of sparkling water shared between the 3, plus one other drink, and played cards. This was over the course of at least 2 and three quarter hours.

I woke this morning, and read a social media post from a restaurant I like, which is now closing. They said average daily income had dropped but the thing which caught my eye was “So far this year we have served more free tap waters than any other drink”

No wonder restaurants are struggling if this is happening. I have nothing against people who don’t want to drink alcohol, but give your head a wobble and buy a soft drink or two at least.

Buy more drinks!
The cost of all of it is insane. I've got a bit too used to 7 quid pints. Had a period of time off the pop and noticed a) drinking is so expensive now and b) the cost of soft drinks is not much better. I paid 4.50 for a 330ml ginger beer. It was pound for pound more expensive than a pint.

None of this is the bars fault, they have to charge what they charge - but with wages not rising as quickly as previously, I can see many shutting down.
