Yesterday's example:

Idiot Albion fan blocking a carriage, so waiting fans couldn't squeeze on.

When I pointed out that he was in the way (he knew), he made room for myself and kids to squeeze past - for the benefit of others - but still refused to move down himself.

Must have saved himself 5 secs exit time at Brighton station.

Told my kids never to be like the selfish bellend.

They didn't need telling.

That's not just a football thing. Happens on commuter trains too.

There's this weird need for some people to be near the doors. Really irritating. And they look at you like you're the idiot for suggesting they shuffle their lardy arse down the aisle a bit.

Happens every day on every rush hour train and underground. Nothing to do with football!
It IS to do with football when an ALBION fan is blocking ALBION fans.

London commuters readily call out this kind of behaviour - as I did yesterday - which usually embarrasses people to move. But not this arrogant meathead.

(I've lived and commuted in London for 30 years.)

Same thing happened on a train leaving Putney earlier in the season.
A Brighton fan desperate to get himself and others on board made it perfectly clear what he wanted, ended up in a bit of biffo.
He'd certainly been sampling some recreational fun, but he did have a point.

The only way this is (partly) understandable would be if the guy was getting off at Moulsecoomb or London Road. In which case you'd want to be positioned somewhere near the door. Ditto if you're on a packed commuter train and want to get off at an intermediate station. Even then its perfectly easy to do without blocking other people. If none of the above applies then, yup, the guy's an arrogant meathead

Back in the day Albion fans would look out for each other, those days are gone.
You want to try and drive to the uni to park. Dickheads cutting in on the slip road off the a27 to get on coldean lane when most people queue happily ( wankpanzer drivers mostly) and then not letting people out when in the queue to get out of the top road or driving straight on at a left turn at the roundabout on the slip road off the a27 to lewes causing near misses and again dickhead behaviour.

We have some complete wanker entitled fans

And my point is, it's a Brighton fan purposely blocking Brighton fans, after a game.

It's not simply a selfish commuter blocking other selfish commuters.

I didn't want to call the thread "Bellend Albion fans" - for obvious reasons.

But my point is: Albion fans should show some unity and respect.

I agree - there’s nothing worse than the panic of trying to squeeze through from the back of a carriage past loads of people who can’t see that you are trying to get off the train at a stop no one else is getting off at.

This one is hard to explain but if you know the area, you'll know the problem.
Uni round-a-bout top of the A27 slip road, yes that one where the left lane should be a bus lane. But this is post match with cars exiting the Uni. From the Uni to the round-a-bout there are two lanes. Right lane is marked straight ahead (over the A27 bridge) and left lane is marked turn left to Lewes. But no, two lanes leaving the Uni both go straight over. Meanwhile there is a queue from the lights at the ground going back over the A27 bridge. Rather than keep the round a bout clear all cars, and this includes two lanes coming up off the A27 along with two lanes out of the Uni all try and edge onto the round-a-bout causing a jam. And here come the coaches, all ten let loose together, and bang, the round-a-bout is jammed with cars and even worse, rather than give way to the coach that has priority, 4 lanes of cars keep edging through slowly.
Rant over. Added 5 minutes to my journey but the beer in the pub tasted just as good.

And he or she will likely do the same regardless of football. It’s human nature. See all the time. If you set your expectations lower you’ll not get so wound up by that’s all.

Nope.

I've commuted for 30 years. Whenever I've asked someone to move down a carriage to make room, they've done so in 99% of instances - or, at the very least, responded that they're getting off at the next stop, or shielding luggage or whatever.

This Albion fan was being a dick to other Albion fans - myself, and those waiting to get on.

I'll continue to call it out, in person and on here. Others should do the same.

Don't be a dick.

No doubt but carry on in your foam bath then, you’re working up quite the lather!
