What's your Chinese go to takeaway order? I try to try different things but always return to same old.

1. Chicken and sweetcorn soup
2. Beef in black bean and green pepper sauce
3. Sweet and sour chicken
4. Steamed/boiled rice

That's usually good enough for a dinner and a leftover lunch the following day.

What's yours?

Her indoors doesn’t much like Chinese food as a takeaway, so I’m limited to having it on the rare occasions that she’s away.

On the half dozen times I’ve had it in our ‘new’ abode (4.5 years), I’ve yet to find a place that doesn’t absolutely pump it full of MSG - which does my head in. So my go to ‘Chinese’ these days is Vietnamese - I’ve found three really good ones. Oddly, her indoors is perfectly happy with Vietnamese takeaway

@AmexRuislip - do you know of a decent Chinese takeaway??

Not a big fan of takeaways these days though. I like to get out and be amongst the world.

Love a restaurant.

Can’t stand going to someone’s for dinner. Not a planned dinner anyway.

Restaurants are good. And you know when it’s over.

If I want to pad around in my socks in a lounge, I’ll do it in the comfort of my own home.

But I do enjoy a Chinese takeaway. And I always go and pick it up. I’m not having these un-churched automatons piling into my street on their unlicensed mopeds, barely able to speak English and without even a basic understanding of what High-Tea is.

I like to get out and about.
