Don't know what time the final will kick-off (3pm EST? 5pm EST?) but if it is hot and humid (which it is very likely to be) it will be a horrible experience for all concerned. The Albion v Newcastle Premier League Summer Series match in 2023 [at the Red Bull Arena] was at a similar time of year (July 28 v July 19 for the World Cup Final next year) and it was miserable - and that was for a 7:30pm kick-off.

This Superbowl half time entertainment thing is a terrible idea. No douby done to make event interesting to Yank audiences. However it’s totally alien to the spirit of the game that we know. I guess they will etxrd half time to accommodate it. IF I should be watching I use. that time for a jimmy and to make a cup of tea, like most Bris

This half time thing. I reckon we'll barely register it is happening.

Most in this country will be watching on the Beeb. They'll be far more interested to cutting to Micah Richards and Alex Scott and deliberating over the first half rather than showing what's happening in the stadium.

Those watching on ITV, well, they'll just get bet365 and Dominos adverts and the chance to win some competition in which ITV will spend most of half time reading out the postal address for the benefit of the 3 people who will post an entry. Mark Pougatch will probably not even bother to look over his shoulder to see who's on

I went to that Albion Newcastle game in New Jersey. I don't recall it being particularly miserable in terms of heat and humidity. Being in NYC the next day, now that was hot.

Maybe I'm just used to the humidity in Toronto.

The halftime show during the final was always going to happen, it is America after all. I'm sure there will be fighter jets and B52s over head too.

They will probably even sing the American national anthem beforehand :ROFLMAO: one thing I have never understood is when they have a singer do their own rendition of the national anthem. The national anthem is the national anthem, you shouldn't be jazzing it up as a country song, or a rock ballard. Very odd.

To be honest, if it's a choice between watching Coldplay or Micah Richards, then come on down big Micah.

I spent a few days in New York prior to driving to Philadelphia for the Chelsea game, had not much more than 36 hours in Atlanta for Brentford and then a few days back in New York. Atlanta was hot as hell but I was there a mercifully short time; New York was horribly humid.

Just found a post I made on here shortly before the Newcastle game kicked off:-

NSC’s resident expert has been somewhat out of commission recently, combining a vacation with Albion’s second-ever US tour (and currently trying to catch a breeze on the extremities of the Red Bull Arena concourse in this horrible New York/Jersey heat) - and I think the question has been answered in this thread anyway - but I’ll be reporting back for duty next week (assuming I don’t melt back in Phoenix).
