I do think it's the game Forest probably wanted to avoid the most because of the 7.0. They know that was a freak and we are going to be massively up for this because of that.

I'm trying to wake up a part of my memory from 1978, or there-abouts.
We played Coughies Forest away and he said some bad comments about us and the match. It gee'd up the team for promotion that season.
Only match I can find is a League Cup QF match at Forest in December 1978 that we lost 3:1. They were now in the top league.
Anyone else remember the details?

This actually happened between Liverpool and Palace in the early 90s, didn't it? Liverpool beat them 9-0 then lost 3-2 in the FAC semi.

You're joking! A final between ourselves and Palace (or Bournemouth for that matter) is the stuff of nightmares. Two teams who've never won a trophy before going head to head. You absolutely KNOW we'd lose and have them singing "you've never won f*ck all at us" forever more.
It would make that play-off semi disaster seem like pre-season friendly.

Our most important game of the season so far. I do hope that our international starts get a bit of the Alex Ferguson "injuries" to keep them travelling all around the world just days before it kicks off. How many Forest players get call ups ?
