There's a real possibility that the final this year could be between two teams who have never won it before.

Am I right in thinking that the last time this happened is 1946 between Derby and Charlton?

And, related to that, something that can't happen this year, but when was the last final between two teams who had never previously appeared in a final? I think we'd have to go back in the mists of time for that, I don't have a clue

(Now watch Forest and City win their games to screw up any such thinking)

I believe the last final between two clubs who had never won it before was the Chelsea vs Leeds final in the 1969-70 season, before that it was the 64-65 final between Liverpool and Leeds (which Liverpool won obviously).

The 1913-14 final between Burnley and Liverpool was the last one between two clubs who had never played in an FA Cup Final before.

Of course. I'd discounted those finals because teams had been finalists but they'd never won it - I got confused. :dunce:

But that 1913-14 final is a great spot.

I am actually terrified this is going to happen this season and that we are going to end up playing in the final against either Bournemouth or Palace. You just know we'd lose.
