These aren't the players you're looking for.

The Athletic also reporting the scan

It looked like cramp in his right calf.

On 88 minutes he darts into the penalty box and goes down innocuously, he then stretches out his right leg and pulls back his foot with his hand. He then gets up and indicates to the bench.

30 seconds later he sits down again, pulling his right foot back to stretch the muscle, he then rubs the inside of his right calf when talking to the ref.

It looked like tightness rather than anything more serious, and definitely not his knee.

Didn't have his best game yesterday but hope nothing serious.

It was noticeable just how many Newcastle players were preoccupied with stopping Karou. It really does create space for others.

Also surprising that when Karou came off his replacement wasn’t Adingra. Simon needs to up it if Karou is to be out for any length of time.

It might have been tactical in my view.... he seemed, for a portion of the game, to drift and run a line a 5 yards narrower than his normal touchline position..... he appeared less effective there.

I was frustrated how much he played in the middle, rarely seemed to be on the wing when we needed width. Must have been instructed to be there, maybe to reinforce the mid field.

My son and I were saying the same about Adingra. I don't see him being with us next season. FH likes physicality in his players, so I don't think Simon fits his bill.

First half was spent predominantly in the middle.
He did the same thing against Bournemouth, I seem to remember.

Strange seemed to play as an inside forward in 1st half He is outstanding out wide. Over years have seen different managers think wide players can do well in central position and very rarely works. I can recall LuaLus Knockart and Solly doing this. Antonio who was winger of WH is an exception

Dwight Yorke and Terry 'enry are also notable exceptions.

You can say the same with O'Riley.

I noticed the same and assumed that he was dropping in to help out the midfield as Baleba had his hands full fighting of Joelinton

O Riley had a stomach illness yesterday which explains why he was missing (although the squad is very tight now in terms of numbers. Cashin was dropped during the week not for fitness reasons) .

Less surprising, I feel, given that we'd moved Weiffer to left back and Hinshelwood to right back. Solly is more solid defensively than Adingra and better suited to the role at that time, plus we moved into a semi-wing-back system at times too, something March is better suited to

FH said this after the match >> “We have to wait for the scan [on his knee] and then I can say more about that. But hopefully it’s not that bad. Let’s wait.”

Didn't seem to find running when he celebrated Danny's goal off the bench too taxing. So hope so.
