Steyning away at Sevenoaks today, they opened the scoring, then went behind and with about 10 minutes to go it was 4-1, came back to 4-3 and missed two sitters in injury time which would have earned them a valuable point.

Littlehampton
Littlehampton 1-2 Beckenham for me today. Golds were actually quite unlucky to lose this one; there was very little in the game despite the huge points gap between the teams. Littlehampton have been all over the place this season, went on a terrible run over the Christmas and New Year period then won 3 games on the trot recently. They've got a couple of decent new/returning players in - hopefully they'll have enough to steer clear of the relegation zone, but there's still work to do.

Anyone going to Chelmsford today? Might see you there.
Wasn't there but looks like a vital last gasp win for the Rebels, despite being down to 10 men. Two games in hand on Dorking, four points behind. Home win v Bath on Tuesday please

Agree, good game and can see why both teams are doing so well. My grandson lasted until half time and his Dad had to take him home soon after - as I reminded him, his first game was at the Goldstone vs York City and we both saw less than 45 mins of football!
I took my son to his first Brighton game when he was 4 at Withdean. It was the cup game against Woking. We left at half time too. He now goes home and away and is completely hooked.

A pretty even game in my view (although the sun was in my eyes somewhat).

Worthing took the lead with a scruffy goal just before half time and then Chelmsford scored with a very good direct free kick resulting from Tutt's 2nd yellow card 4 minutes into the second half. So Worthing played from 49 minutes onwards with 10 men, but halfway through the second half I literally did count up the players on the pitch to check that it really was 10 v. 11 !

A good strike from the edge of the penalty area - hard and low - grabbed the win in the 95th minute.

Could have gone either way, I reckon and a draw would probably have been a fair result TBH.

Let's hope Aldershot can finally secure our first Wembley trip

Crowborough 2-1 Peacehaven

Crowborough really should have been out of sight in the first 15 minutes of this one. They came out the blocks lightening quick and created several good chances. The goal eventually did come following a defensive mix up. Crowborough then really took their foot off the gas the game was a pretty even affair. 1-0 half time but it really should have been more.

Second half was also pretty even. Crowborough eventually got the the second with about 20 to go only to concede a couple of minutes later. Made for a tighter finish than it should have been. But all credit to Peacehaven for that they made a game out of it when really Crowborough should have put it to bed in the first 20 minutes.

Decent crowd just shy of 400 including a decent number travelling up from the coast. Crows up to second...still some way off Hassocks though.

Littlehampton
Just back from Culver Road where Littlehampton pulled off an astonishing upset by knocking out (2 division higher) Eastbourne Borough in the Sussex Senior Cup. I don't know enough about Borough to understand whether they had a full strength team out or not, but Littlehampton battled superbly throughout and took advantage of having a man advantage for most of the second half. Incredible achievement to reach the final at The Amex after a pretty poor season.

Worthing 2 Bath 1
Not a great performance but got over the line and are up to second in the table.

I was at the other end of the ground but I’d love to see the penalty appeal again. Looked absolutely stonewall from where I was. 30 seconds later we score a pretty controversial winner

Safe to say my opinion on the ref changed from shit to brilliant very quickly :lolol:

Also I think I celebrated the win too hard. Yesterday was my birthday, I’m currently on my way to work on a grand total of 0 minutes of sleep.

Yet to have a chance to wash the smell of beer out of my beard after the amount of it that was flying around in the shed when those goals went in 😂

A game that summed up some of the negatives of this season despite going up to 2nd - inability to kill off teams we would have thrashed quite easily last season, allowing them to get back in the game, Aggy not making substitutes until late (definitely a few players who were looking worn down after Saturday and needed to come off earlier in the second half) - yet we just came away scraping a win.

Massive result given it was one of the two games in hand we had left over Dorking. Cannot afford to drop any more silly points against teams not in the hunt for the title given how tight it is at the top.
