Whilst I can remember some things that day like it was yesterday, but at 60 I’m wavering over whether our beleaguered Chief Exec attended the match at Edgar Street, with his Jezebel of a wife, Josephine?

Part of me thinks he did, once the Gulls Eye coach had arrived I had to go round to the main reception to sort out a couple of lads with tickets, I vaguely recall a conversation with PC Beardo (remember him?) who told me, despite being advised by Sussex and Herefordshire Police not to come, he had and Archer had provided him with private security to sit with him in the main stand.

Does anyone else remember seeing him there?

I thought he had turned up and been turned away.
I’m off to see Robbie Fowler in Worthing on Thursday - I don’t think I’ll be asking the obvious question.

Could you imagine if we’d lost and Bellotti was there? He’d have needed quite the private security team.

I feel like he can’t have been.

Just checked Build a Bonfire, and he was indeed allowed in.

Staggering arrogance.

What would you have done if you had caught him? Or did you catch him?
He made it to the director entrance before we got to him. Suspected a lot of shouting and little else.

My other contribution that year was finding out Archer’s address and phone number, and then advertising his services in a Manchester/North West transvestite contact magazine under the name ‘Billie’.

Dammit. I knew that voice sounded familiar...

Well I can can't confirm he was inside the ground but 100% I can confirm he was about 30 minutes away at a petrol station,a lass that was with us recognised him and although he escaped a handbag round the chops she did manage to lob her bottle of tango at his car,( a green Jag ? ) direct hit causing absolutely no damage whatsoever, but the thought was there.

P.S if you look like D.B and live in Hereford sorry about that 😁

There’s a picture of him and his wife being barracked on arriving at Edgar St in
Stuart Weir’s More Than 90 Minutes book.No idea how to put this on here which
makes this post totally worthless.

I remember chasing Bellotti around the car park at Chester that season
Presumably because he failed to submit the Annual Account on time that year.

Jeez! What is it with this numbers obsession?

Belllotti's arrival at Edgar Street was captured by either BBC South or Meridian, so there is video footage of the incident. I actually have it somewhere on VHS as with lots of interesting stuff from around the "war years".

The video shows Bellotti being denied entry by an official of Hereford United, with Bellotti's argument being that Sussex Police had given him the OK to attend the match. The official responds by stating that Sussex Police have no jurisdiction over Edgar Steet and that West Mercia Police have advised that Bellotti is refused entry.

I believe he did make in to watch the game and I suspect this was that his safety could not be guaranteed if he was left outside on the streets.

Albion & England forever.

Thanks for the info (y)

Pardon the pun but she certainly had some bollocks did Mrs Bellotti Mk 3, turning up in that scenario its almost perverse, unless Blofeld up in Lancs paid them extra to attend for one final wind up?

Fun fact in the years after this young Jo obviously had sex with the toad at least twice as she bore him two children.
