Introducing first in the red corner. Hailing from Benfleet, Essex. He stands at five foot, 10 inches. He represented the Albion from 1977 to 1982. He is one of the most fearsome tacklers in English football history. He is THE TANK. He is Paul "The Tank" Clark!

And his opponent in the blue corner. Hailing from Bracknell, Berkshire and standing at 6 foot, 1 inches. He is a former Albion captain and represented the club from 1999 to 2004. He is one half of the infamous "Mitchell Brothers". He is a notorious training ground and on pitch thug. He is the Grant Mitchell lookalike. He is Danny "Grant Mitchell" Cullip!

For the first time, I’m having to think properly.

Tank, by a whisker…

I remember The Tank coming off the bench against Spurs at the Goldstone in 1977/78. The season they cheated us out of promotion at The Dell (see my signature)

He ran on from the bench and ran straight at the Tottenham player who happened to have the ball. The Tottenham player passed quickly to a teammate. The Tank never slowed, just changed direction and went after the second poor sap, who in turn quickly passed to another Spurs player. The Tank changed direction for a second time, at the same speed, for target number three who just panicked and hit the ball long in to our half and our possession.

One of the most fabulous and memorable passages of play in over fifty years watching the Albion.

Love Danny Cullip, but don't talk to me about hard players at The Albion, The Tank wins this tie. He wins the title and goes on to win in Europe. What a player
