Play them and then if they're tired pull them from international duty; isn't that the way to do it?Do we see the international break as a rest period when in fact for some of our players it’s the opposite? They have to fly half way round the world, train, play and fly back again.
Good shout...........but we've already played Saints twice------------Cahill

The league comes first right?
Exactly this, start the same 11 as last night (injuries permitting)Not the time to keep players happy, rotate etc. This is the sharp end of elite football so play the best 11 (based on training/form). Irrespective of who you are in the club (skipper/fan favourite) you play if you deserve to. Injuries are part of football and you cannot second guess when they’ll occur.
Did he get injured in the warm up? A groin strain isn’t going to fix itself in 4 days. Huge if that’s the case, I had them as clear favourites for Sunday, if he’s out then nowhere near as clear.Isak out with a groin injury tonight, it would be terrible shame if he wasn't available on Sunday![]()
Hopefully 4 games rather than 3As others have said… barring any injuries 100% we have to stick with what is working at the moment.
Other than Tuesdays battle with B’mouth, we have been playing one game per week with the next 5 weeks only having 3 games.
If we have any hope of getting back into Europe and holding our own then we have to get used to playing the best 11 regularly.
I got very excited when I saw Isak was off the team sheet last night but the cynical side of me says that was somewhat tactical and he will be in fine fettle for both Sunday and their Carabao Cup final in a few weeks.
ThisVery tough. I thought over half the 11 looked out on their feet at 50 minutes yesterday![]()
Not sure how to break this to you H, but its highly unlikely you'd have been selected anyway....there is a fair chance I will miss the final as I am down to have my knee replaced in May.
Depends on whether we get any more injuriesNot sure how to break this to you H, but its highly unlikely you'd have been selected anyway.
In fact I don't think you'd even make the bench, tbh.
Very unlikely Newcastle would prioritise the FA Cup over pushing for a Champions League place I'd have thought. As others have said… barring any injuries 100% we have to stick with what is working at the moment.
