Quite a shock, one of the items was the Lap Record Board from the Olivers Mount motorcycle circuit.

The Board has several famous names on it, Geoff Duke for example. The 1954 Lap Record was one P.H.Carter , who broke Bill Doran's previous Record. He really enjoyed the Oilvers Mount circuit, which is basically the roads round a Park and won three Cock of the North Meetings (1951, 1952 and 1956). Bill Dorans family got hold of the Board and the Repair Shop were asked to repair it.

Gobsmacking to see yiour Dad's name on a prime time TV Show!

If you ever are up in Scarborough I would recommend a visit to Oliver's Mount, the racing circuit is an absolutely headmental experience and yes they still race on it...

Tell me about it. I’ve never watched Crimewatch since.
Reminds me of a conversation I had with a relative decades ago. I told them I had been doing police ID parades and got £10 each time. The reply was 'Last time I did a police ID parade I got three years'
