Wait, what?

£27m?

From the hundred? A competition we're not even in? So there's 18 counties, I guess they all get something like that? That's some broadcast deal, because i'm guessing this competition isn't being bankrolled by an increase in crisp consumption or the hordes of women and children that have suddenly discovered cricket is for them and got themselves a ticket
The ECB sold their shares in the Franchises...

How does the Hundred make that much money?!?

This strikes me of the ITV digital deal a few years back....
There are a lot of questions unanswered. The prices paid are mouthwatering.

All we need is now folk not to turn up, the whole thing fail, and counties walk away with the cash.

Job's a goodun

I despise the hundred and the watering down of domestic cricket.

That said we need the cash and I really hope it comes with conditions regarding longevity etc.

New regime have splashed the cash in some interesting ways and are a bit skint now. I would be concerned if they could spend it willy nilly. Needs long term survival as the priority, not potential vanity projects.

Sussex are one of the counties being targeted by the failed Hundred investors if reports are to be believed. Even if that is just hearsay, it won't be long.

The ECB has attached conditions to the handouts -- it has to be used to invest in grounds or other business projects. And Sussex have said it'll be spent on improving Hove. I would expect a new Shark stand with hospitality boxes at some point.

It would be wise for members keep an eye on any manoeuvres. Those penny share rules of ownership are vital for at least partial transparency.

I'm not sure if you are a Hants fan or not, but what is the takeover looking like there ?

No, Sussex fan. That said a few Hants mate weren't happy with the Rajanstan Royals tie up. Didn't go well and could be a sign of things to come - essentially turning counties in to franchises or rich people's play things until they get bored.
