Don't know if this is the right thread but it seemed to be the right thread title!

Watching Leicester last night and Southampton today made me reflect, again, on just what an extraordinary and important role Chris Hughton played for us.

Achieved three of the most difficult tasks in football. Dragging a (very) limited team out of a championship relegation battle. Getting a team, without parachute payments or immense spending, promoted from the championship. But most of all, keeping that team, with only modest reinforcements, up for the first two seasons in the Premier league.

We owe him SO much.

Also, he was lovely.
These are a good post.

With what he to work with, you can't fault him. Just look at what we have now K/M and back then CMS and he was good seriously good at the time. One could argue that C/H put the building blocks in place in which the club has built on, but i could be wrong ?

Absolute club legend, we really should bring him back one day so we can give him the proper, rousing ovation he deserves

Been going to the Albion since Jan ‘83 and can honestly say that in my opinion Chris Hughton is the best manager I’ve ever seen at the club in that time. As someone alluded to in a previous post what he achieved was absolutely outstanding in the time he was with us. Every season he achieved his targets:
1;Stay up
2;Challenge for Promotion
3;Promotion
4;Stay up
5;Stay up

Phenomenal and I for one hope that one day he’ll come back for us all to acknowledge his contribution to where we are now.

Did the club make the right decision ? Yes

Is Chris a pivotal person in the club's history and a genuine legend ? Yes

But let's face it, he was an explosive loose cannon on that touchline and had to be moved on for everyone's safety.
