  • Southampton are winless in their last six matches against Brighton (D3, L3).
  • The Seagulls have not lost any of their Premier League away games against Southampton (W2, D4).
  • They have won just one of their previous 14 top-flight games, losing 20 of the last 25.
  • they have lost seven home league games in a row, conceding at least three goals on six occasions.
  • They are the only side yet to score from outside the penalty area in the Premier League this season.
So many bad omens in that stat fart. So many streaks we could see an unwelcome end to today.

Fortunately I don't believe in omens. 2-2.

They are the only side yet to score from outside the penalty area in the Premier League this season.
So the simple solution is not to let them into our penalty box, and certainly not concede a corner.

When he let the goal in, Ethelred stood on something, which turned out to be a sixpenny coin that some poor Saxon had dropped in the goalmouth. This is the origin of the phrase 'turned on a sixpence'.
That was the game where Ethelred's brother attempted in vain to halt the tide of early leavers, leading to cries from the angry mob 'Let us out you Canute!'

Yes, that was the one.

Not long after that, a bunch of Normans invaded the pitch on horseback, and ruined the playing surface. Ever since then, Saints have traditionally blamed the pitch for poor performance. Keep an eye out for it. When a player scuffs a shot, he will look back and pretend to repair the divot.

Surely Southampton fans are already looking forward to renewing their hostilities with Portsmouth in the Solent Derby/ El Crapico.
Both sides win today by virtue of not being Portsmouth.

We need to score 6 today……given my Wordle score
Oh no  I'm nervous on both counts.

Hoping we don't return to our usual suspect performance against teams at the bottom of the table. And then tomorrow is a huge Wordle day for me. I got a 4 today (was almost a 3 but I chose the wrong letter at the start of the word) ... but I'm now on a winning streak of 364 days. Tomorrow will be HUGE :ROFLMAO:

Really? Really? Please tell me you're joking. It's away for the love of God.

Anyway - new ground for me today. I've heard a lot of good things about The Dell.
They’re all wrong. IKEA flat-pack stadium.
