Once I'd got myself back together I forced the family to watch and made sure they cried. Often when I get the train down for games, Japanese fans get on the train from Gatwick. Ecuadorian fans tend to come on mass from Seven Sisters.

Well that had me welling up.

What a beautiful story.......... and fair play to Charlie for sticking with the Albion through all those many awful lean years.

Was great to see him recognise a legend of my youth Andy Rollings and such a poetic day to attend the Amex to see Mitoma score a wonder goal before meeting the legend himself.

I love our Japanese fans.

Got me right in the feels!

😍Just watched the clip, what a lovely humble man Charlie is, and young Mitoma showed lots of respect, well done Albion.

I got very choked watching that, it's incredible. Just perfect he was here for that game and that goal!

But it also got me thinking about what his experience must have been like at the Goldstone in the 70s when he was initially following us. How many times did he have to laugh off questionable comments? How many times did he feel intimidated or "other"? And yet he has retained his passion for the club and a game which isn't as big in Japan. I'd like to hear a lot more from this man, but I also have exactly as much as I need from him right now!
