Assume Yates remains an away pub, otherwise it’s says something about the local area where the “wine lodge” is defended and fiercely protected

Any suggestions for somewhere slightly less ‘Yates’ than Yates? Somewhere a bit quieter where you can sit down and relax for a couple of hours. No colours.

Wakey wakey. My point entirely. So Southampton doormen could differentiate between a rounded southern Sussex accent and a where’s my tractor Southampton accent. The poster who originally mentioned about accents is spot on.

That was my original thoughts and question 😂😂
You could try Raven and Bine in Carlton Place, it's a Dancing Man Brewery pub, has a great garden, not too far from the ground, relatively. You could even pop into Piecaramba on the way, on the same road. It's a 15-20 minute wander from the station. If you don't wear colours i assume it's alright. Overdraft is on the same street, that's an excellent craft pub, sells decent Tacos.

I’ll be in Yates for ease as much as anything else on the way from the station to the ground. I wouldn’t choose it on a night out these days but for a matchday it’s fine and the best option for away fans IMO.

And it always brings back memories of me winning a crate of blue WKD (🤮 ) for winning a karaoke contest singing Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me on a random night out about 20 years ago!

Yates is the away pub, Belgium and Blues for us though
Same. I'll need it after a two and a half hour train journey preceded by a half hour walk and an hour on a rail replacement bus.
