Boring By Sea
That was good, and at times brilliant.

I bet it was.
I’m away for the current crop of dates but thinking of watching them in Galway in July. Only thing putting me off is that they are playing in some kind of big top which makes me worry the acoustics may be poor. You certainly don’t want that with Mogwai.

Wild boys never hit a note.

A graph line of singing ability v commercial success would be an outlier that would make THAT season against Palace look normal.

a terrible singer

I reckon the drummer's mum could hold a tune better.

....quite like 'Skin Trade' and 'Notorious ' though.

Particularly 'Notorious', that's a banger.

Part of me would love to see him try to sing that live.... It will be hilarious.

This week I went to see The Prodigy on Tuesday and The Smyths last night.

Today I rest.

He was/is an offensively dreadful singer. Not just technically, it's an unpleasant, irritating whine

Don’t know if anyone noticed - I got a name check tonight. 🤪
Yes, I did!
Thought it was a great evening. We left after the hour so hoping they did not come back on stage.
New songs sounded great as does the whole album, I’ve got to pick mine up from Resident some point.
We enjoyed the support act too who I believe are Brighton based. Always like a bit of manic dancing and gurning from a lead singer, he seemed to enjoy being in front of a larger crowd.
Now I’ve got to get my head around getting to Southampton- one too many in the Albert before the show.

As mentioned, I saw Nubya Garcia last night. I won’t say too much as I do not want to spoil @Is it PotG? ‘s gig in a few weeks. But I will say it was wonderful, you lose all sense of time listening to her. Her band were excellent, as usual I parked myself in front of the drummer, he was fascinating to watch and listen to. I left the venue and bumped into Nubya in a back room kitchen and had a brief chat and a photo; lovely person as well as a superb saxophonist, song writer and entertainer.

Listen to her current album Odyssey.
