All power to Bozza, and sorry he had to post that 'sticky'. Shouldn't be like that, should it?
As for 'that thread', I posted on it early days - wickedness on both sides and nobody wholly in the right; couldn't be arsed to argue with fanatical loons of either extreme persuasion.
The Ukraine thread? Take a lot of my news from people who know what they're talking about on that thread. Chip in occasionally, and ignore the odd pro Russia/pro Putin/pro Trump fascist w*nker (so thick he/she/it doesn't even recognise they're a fascist). Good thread.
Brexit - as an unashamed Brexiteer I realise I'm in a tiny minority on here (though not in the world outside of NSC on referendum day) but don't get involved with that any more - the amount of spiteful vitriol on this site towards Brexiteers wasn't its finest hour, but hey ho.
So, football, the Albion, a bit of music chat and other odds and sods - bring 'em on. If there's any c**t trying to close NSC down, I rate them on the same level of scum as Putin, Trump and a few other pieces of shit.

NSC is far from a perfect community but that reflects society as a whole, nobody is perfect. To say the good outweighs the bad on this forum is a massive understatement. I cannot begin to understand the arrogance of anyone who would maliciously want to close this community down.

Long live NSC and all who post on it

Would it be such a bad thing if NSC were shut down? UK GDP would rise with increased productivity when peeps can't spend time on here.

On the other hand.....

There would be a lot of folk whose lives would be considerably less enriched in the absence of NSC

vive la NSC!
long live the king! (Bozza)
And keep up the good work mods ....

I wrote this once and often share it when people discuss the question "What is NSC for ?" . A love letter to the forum and Bozza if you like. Its old now - we were discussing Chris Hughton's tactics then - but still relevant i think. The recent Middle Aged thread is yet another thread example where Albion fans can seek solace, help and comfort alongside the more mundane rows such asFAB OUT or the merits of PBOBE . (Barber IN , Shirley. ) Hope @Bozza is ok and this bump is soon sorted.

True story, I originally signed up to NSC ages ago in the late 90's when I first came to the US for grad school. I guess I wanted to keep some connection to my Brighton roots.

At some point I stopped regularly checking in. If I had to guess, it was probably when I graduated and started working. I just drifted away.

It was your article that brought me back here. And I've been here pretty much ever since.

It's a great community for me. Helps me to keep in touch with the place I was born and raised. It truly is a treasure.

Echo this. Brighton born and raised and NSC is my closest link to keep up with all things Brighton. I don't partake in the football threads much anymore, but the general everyday life threads interest me.

NSC is a wonderful resource and way of spending time online without feeling guilty afterwards (I'm talking about watching cat videos on Instagram, not 'private browsing'). I often wish NSCers had little hovering signs above their heads with their online names on as there are several I'd like to meet in real life...and a few I'd swerve. I hope this threat comes to nothing and that you're OK @Bozza - you've got more than enough on your plate.

In my local council we have a massive hole in the ground where a swimming pool should be (which is 2 years late natch), a bridge that is half built and 16 million over budget with no completion date and road chaos whilst HS2 is being built whilst everyone shrugs, do nothing and blame everyone else.

I''m sure things must be much better down here if Local councillors have got time to pick fights with a message board over issues which aren't in the same country let alone district. Whoever that is, is probably unwittingly on the bell cheese at work thread.

NSC is a great resource with some wonderfully helpful people on it. Only last week it managed to sort out a 10% discount on my AMEX credit card and direct me to the Sugababes thread that @Herr Tubthumper highlighted which gave me a cracking laugh. It's that kind of diverse content that will keep me here for a long time to come. Keep up the good work and good fight. Reading the sticky illustrates how much of a time thief this site must be for Bozza.

I'd always stayed away from forums believing them to be dens of vipers and idiots. A stereotype reinforced for years by the Private Eye parodies. But NSC reeled me in at a time when I'd become so disenchanted with living 500 + miles away from home and it's been great to find the humour and humility on here that I recognise from the past - and as others have said, that feeling that if you walked into a pub and got chatting with these strangers that also supported BHA you'd have a good laugh and try to put football and the world to rights - and probably drink more than you intended too. The only disappointment is that it doesn't really happen in reality when I am down for matches. But I'll be moving home when Bozza gives all this nonsense up and opens a pub.

All credit to Bozza and the moderators for running this site. It sounds like a lot of hard work for little reward even without having to deal with legal threats.

If it was me I’d have probably have given up after the first or second legal threat.

Glad to be of assistance. That thread really is something else isn't it? :lolol:

Just far enough away from LDC
I always think of nsc as a local pub. There are all kinds of people in it.

- Some i know and like,
- some i know and maybe wouldn't normally choose to socialise with
- others i dont know who I engage with and form an opinion.
- some I definitely steer clear of

But overall nsc has been a happy boozer for me where I hope I've been able to disagree agreeably where necessary but learnt an awful lot more from so many other people.

Big love to Bozza and the mods who I know do a hard, thankless job in a very diligent way.

This.
NSC gives me that link back to my home town, days at the Goldstone/Withdean and lots of laughs. Like others it's usually the first thing I look at in the morning. Plus we are a DAB (see what I did there) hand at fish puns. Wouldn't have it any other way. UTA.

Bang! And the dirt is gone.
I only post sporadically, but have read the threads on here for years. NSC is a brilliant conglomeration of threads, opinions, help, reassurance and nonsense. I come on here to catch up on all things Albion and plenty of other stuff. I haven't commented on the mental health threads, but have often read them and they have been a source of comfort and reassurance many times. Just to know that others have similar experiences, and you are not alone, is often very reassuring. There is often great empathy and compassion shown also, which reinforces your faith in human nature. If someone is trying to get the site closed down, I think that is an incredibly selfish and shortsighted perspective. Shame on them. The world would be crappier place should such a thing happen.
