The one thing I resented about Tideway considering I went to Seaford Head, was the early finishing time. I do recall though that many of our finest wanted to kick the sh1t out of each other on many occasions though lol!

I finished at 4.00 first bus was 4.05 and it was a mad scramble to get it… often involving bolting instantly regardless of teachers dismissing the class and running in corridors and stairs.

Late 70’s/early 80’s …. the enemy was Longhill, including the famous stoning of their sports minibus with people in it. It was as if Seaford/East Dean/Eastbourne or Lewes didn’t exist. All eyes on the exciting metropolis of Brighton.

Actually, we didn't really live up to our reputation. For a school in the middle of Whitehawk, there was hardly any trouble.

Someone in my family was a teacher there in about 2000. By then they had full time security guards, particular needed at closing time when parents wanted to attack the head/teachers for disciplining their beloved kids! Modern life.

I heard it had gone downhill rapidly after John Werner, an outstanding head teacher, left. That was late 80s. Up until then it was pretty well regarded. I rarely had issues there despite being weedy and 'odd', Good memories.

We must have been at school together, although I only joined TAB from John Selden in about 77 in Mr White’s class.

77/78, I think I was in Miss Clark's class, then Mrs Hunt in 78/79.
that was quite a switch in teaching styles...
I think Mr white was a 4th year form teacher wasn't he.?

I remember Miss Clark - small quiet lady. I think I had Andy Mead (who I only saw again a few years ago, still a great bloke) before Mr White. Moved to DHS in 1979 when it was only really TAB kids plus the odd few from English Martyrs (?) that made up the first year before the kids from Selden and West Park joined for year 2.

Yeah sounds like we were in the same year.
Mr Mead was famous for taking and attempting to score, from every goal kick, when he was "refereeing" games on the small pitch.
Not sure if he ever managed it.
