[Albion] The last “Great” night at the Goldstone?

No idea, but a not so great night was the one where i was like 6 or 7 and stood on the seat, my weight was too far back and the chair flipped up and i fell down the back in a seated position and got stuck. Stewards had to remove the seat to get me out

I remember that game because I had just agreed to cover the administration on the night shift at work in Gatwick. Thus it is the only Albion match I have watched and been to work afterwards for a full shift. The Albion does provide little mile posts in our lives. I think I may have left work and returned for the KIngstonian debacle a month or so later.

I’d go with that one as well. I was 12 at the time. Seem to remember a pitch invasion near the end when the whistle went for a free kick but all those waiting on the sidelines thought it was over

Arsenal in the Cup and the hand held loud speakers in the North Stand all shuffle along a step etc
Millwall in the cup SF and a steward/Police line between the fans as it was obvious 100s of Millwall got in there
8-2 defeat by Bristol Rovers in the Warrboys and Bannister era (not an Albion great but memorable)
I cant dam well recall game at the moment but think was Boxing Day might been Bristol Rovers ball got stuck in mud on South Stand goal.

I was at this game. Their ‘keeper made a number of good saves and for some reason I remember he had very white gloves.

It was a great atmosphere. The Barnet coach likened the noise to Anfield and Old Trafford.

That was a very memorable night. Nearly 10,000 there, which, at the time, was a very big crowd which generated a fantastic atmosphere.

Wasn't there a midweek game in the early 1990s where we ruined Pompey's play off hopes with an unexpected Albion win at the tail end of the season? I have a feeling they may have one or two players sent off. Would have been around the Darren Anderton, Guy Whittingham era for them. Pretty sure we were already relegated at the time, which made it all the funnier.

Enormously satisfying.

It depends on your definition of 'Great, but think the answer might be the Darlington game in December 1996. Not for the result of course, we lost 3-2 to the team immediately above us in the table, but it was one of those momentous games in a season of momentous games that changed the course of our history. It felt the protests were stepping up to another level, Bellotti being chased out of the directors box within seconds, then large, angry protests outside the west stand after the game, when he had just gone 6 points adrift at the bottom, and then Jimmy Case was sacked the next day pavng the way for Steve Gritt to come in and perform his rescue act. One of those unforgettable nights in our history.

I always thought the Barnet game was the last night game at the Goldstone. Queues outside to get in, a packed Northstand and Ian Baird bundling the ball over the line with his groin for a one nil win. Brilliant atmosphere, but maybe I just didn't get to the Wigan game.

That was a great night, but it wasn't the "last" great night, as per the thread title.
So many just posting their favourite match, surely the last great night was the win against Barnet.
I had been working in Germany, and hadn't seen many games in that season, but I managed to get there for the last ever night match at the Goldstone and those 3 points were priceless in the fight to stay in the Football League.

The Barnet game was the last night match, you thought right. Wigan match was on a Saturday afternoon
