Ooof. Touched a nerve.I do apologise. My "glib", "useless", "hilarious", response was very much underpinned by the fact that I actually couldn't give a flying f*ck about Man Utd.

No not really. I may have misread the thread, I thought it was an opportunity to have a good laugh at the shambles at OT at the moment. Again genuine apologies if I have caused offence.Ooof. Touched a nerve.
Nice work if you can get it. Glazers are still majority shareholders, of course. Ineos do seem impressive in their incompetence.Manchester United paid Dan Ashworth £4.1m to leave after five months
Manchester United have revealed they paid £4.1m to Dan Ashworth when he left after only five months at Old Trafford. It cost the club about £3m in compensation last summer to acquire the sporting director from Newcastle but they parted ways in December. Ashworth’s exit came after the sacking of Erik ten Hag and his staff in October, which cost United £10.4m. United made great effort to prise Ashworth away from Newcastle but a decision was made for him to depart after a summer of underwhelming recruitment and amid a difficult relationship with the minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
- Financial results reveal former sporting director’s payoff
- United paid about £3m to take Ashworth from Newcastle
The figure was included in United’s latest financial results. They show revenue was down 12% year-on-year to the end of December 2024, caused by a drop in broadcast money after United failed to qualify for the Champions League, but the balance sheet was helped by an £80m cash injection from Ineos.
Blimey, Ineos really are doing a shoddy job. Still, at least it's not the Glazers, eh?
We often get a lot of the promoted sides relegated, but after Fulham, Forest and Bournemouth all stayed up in 22-23, and assuming the three up last year go down this year, by next season every other club in the premier league will have been there for at least three seasons, which is pretty established. Everyone now is either rich, well-managed, or both. But one of these years the three who come up will be well-funded and competent, and thats going to well and truly put the cat amongst the pigeons with the rest of us.Stuck with a load of expensive terrible players, off and on pitch discontent, an unpragmatic manager.
It is quite possible they’ll go down next season.
What do you mean? As they proudly state on their website, the INEOS Grenadiers cycling team has won the Tour de France SEVEN(7) times! There was never ever evidence that Ineos and Sir Jim were ever going to turn around United. if you look at the rest of sporting portfolio its pretty underwhelming, lets hope it continues.

Just enough to post about them on here though.I do apologise. My "glib", "useless", "hilarious", response was very much underpinned by the fact that I actually couldn't give a flying f*ck about Man Utd.
Even if now they got the right people in doing the right things they are still at risk of capitulation because there are so many legacy problemsIt's the silly wages the duff players are on, money thrown around like confetti with each wave of managers choices new players. With unclever contract renewals in attempting to do a Bloom in protecting 'value'.
As much as I loathe Offshore Jim and the Glazers, not sure this figure of £4.1m is necessarily correct.Manchester United paid Dan Ashworth £4.1m to leave after five months

If only there was a number-bothering DULLARD around who could help get to the bottom of it...As much as I loathe Offshore Jim and the Glazers, not sure this figure of £4.1m is necessarily correct.

It must put the Hanging Gardens of Babylon to shame at this point.Bloody hell. Ashworth must have an incredible garden with all the gardening leave he's been getting, only surpassed by his ridiculously bulging bank account from all the clubs he's been doing over.
Ignored the rest….A Liverpool fan from Sussex
On what level is it even remotely comparable?A Liverpool fan from Sussex told me the other day that what Archer, Bellotti and Stanley did to us is the same as what’s the Glaziers are doing to Man Utd.
