I cannot believe that people are actually recommending Five Guys as the best place for a burger.
Their burgers are good. But they are ridiculously expensive for what they are.

Genuinely reckon I'd pay £40 for a Troll's Smoky Mountain now, and it's breakfast time.

He's absolutely ruined burgers for everyone by not doing it anymore.

I loved his burgers and fries. He was next level. I once made a special detour and queued outside his hut so I could try his limited edition Black Heart offal burger.

Do not take anyone to Uncle Sams unless you want your daughter to think you didnt understand the brief.

Suggestions for me would be:

Meatliqor - not been in sometime but not a bad vibe fairly decent burger
7 Bone - Not been to the restaurant in the middle of town but it was always pretty decent when located in Hove
Burger Brothers - as mentioned takeaway unless you want to sit in cramped conditions not really a dining experience
Joes Burger - More of a takeaway but always decent, best chips going IMO.
Matador - New place in Hove not been but looks like a nice setting could be worth a gamble.

It's freezing, so doubt anyone would want to perch on a bench. Burger Bros would be out for me

But 80%+ of pubs would do a perfectly good burger at lunchtime surely. Just find a pub you like, would be the way I would go about it
