My daughter is visiting at the weekend and she's wondering which of our city's 850 restaurants is the best place for burgers - and with a bit of atmosphere too. Any recommendations?

Last time I had a burger, my son took me to burger brothers and we sat on the benches in Jubilee Street. Food superb, atmosphere shouting alkie

It's Burger Brothers for sure. But it's not really a restaurant. It's very small and only has about 6 bar stools. Most people take away.
I've always enjoyed the burgers at Honest Burger and Patty and Bun. They've both come down from London to set up gaffs in Brighton.
Joe's Burger House in Hove and Portslade are consistently excellent.

If you're feeling a bit spendy, Burger Brothers. For any other occasion Uncle Sam's.

Shame that Trollburger left town . You can’t really go wrong with Uncle Sam’s - the double chilli cheese burger would be my recommendation
They should change the name to Gulf of Mexico Burgers or Trump's Farts

I've always enjoyed the quality of burgers at Meat Liquor. Decent atmosphere as well. Good variety of burgers too.

Depends what’s the most important criteria? The Ivy does a burger on their lunch menu which is great and has wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant. Burger Brothers is great but take away. Five Guys does good burgers but crap atmosphere. 7 Bone on Duke Street does great burgers and can be a bit noisy but usually decent atmosphere

Phenomenal burger
Another vote for Burger Brothers but the surroundings are a bit 'basic'. The Eagle also do really good burgers and you can sit, and drink, in a pub environment. I'm assuming they have reopened the kitchen after the recent fire.

Now if we're going for rare burgers that aren't in Brighton (or even Britain) I would have answered a burger restaurant in La Plagne, but I didn't want to come over all HT

Not only raw, it’s illegal. I understood that restaurants are no longer allowed to serve burgers rare.
