He appears more comfortable in this role under Fab where the wide men track back so he can stay central. It is when he is dragged wide or one on one with quick footed opponents that he can struggle.

Ok, but no centre back wants to be out wide racing a winger. It's up to the manager to be playing a system which ensures this isn't happening

Big shout out to Webo, he was faultless last night, really pleased for the guy.
Very close to.
His only moment was when he tripped over the ball putting us in a bit of danger, though the rest of the team reacted very quickly and snuffed it out, as they did for every mistake that was made in the game.

Yep back four were very good . Tariq got a bit overloaded at times but Neto is a good player and only escaped a few times.
I thought Lamptey was excellent considering he was on his wrong side, and considering he got no where near as much help from Mitoma that Veltman got from Minteh, who basically played as a wingback for much of the game.

As for Webster, it’s amazing what happens when you set up a team to protect your defence. He’s been really good since returning from injury and should, for me at least, stay in the side ahead of Dunk when Dunk returns.

From The Athletic this morning - a flattering piece on Webbo… including this tidbit:

Hurzeler’s side have not conceded a goal with Webster on the pitch in his last 258 minutes of league football this season…
His reading of the game is superb. More than once in the last few games he's very casually cut out some quite good cut backs in the area whilst the opposition queue up behind him.

Friday was the first time he's completed a 90 in the league this season. Hopefully a real step forward in his fitness.

Also superb at marshalling the defence.
Multiple occasions where he was directing midfielders as to where they needed to be, during dangerous attacks.

Were we not playing 3 at the back?
