Looking for a new club for next season apparently. Would he be a good replacement in the “experienced” role for Milner who surely will retire? Aged 33 but hopefully has another couple of years in him.

The perfect player to replace the pace we've missed since Gross left! Good player in his day but has looked very much past it the last few times I've seen him - not helped by playing for that shambles mind you.

With Baleba, Ayari, Hinshelwood, Gomez, O'Riley and Yalcouye already available in centre midfield next season, I've got to say I'd rather we invested the money elsewhere.

I used to think he was great but he looks increasingly like someone who doesn't enjoy the game much anymore and possibly needs to drop down a level.
I doubt many Man Utd players are enjoying themselves at the moment. Elanga spoke recently about how much more he enjoys playing for Forest than Man United (or something along those lines).

I'm still far from convinced about the Milner, Lallana type signings.

I'm not sure if you'd put Welbeck in the same category as he was much younger when he signed, but they seem to work out badly more often than they work out well.

Or put it this way. Would I want to spend a season watching exciting young players like Hinsh, Gomez, Ayari all developing at pace? Or do I want to see a once top player like Erikson playing out his final years?

Incredible player under mopo
Thought he would end up at a top club, didn't really work out.
United playing him in CM is mad
Should go back to Ajax
My lasting memory of him at Spurs was courtesy of a friend of mine. He's a Spurs fan who watched him week-in-week-out, and used to FUME about the media constantly getting excited by his free-kick "ability".

"Free-kick for Tottenham here on the edge of the box, perfect range for Eriksen and we know how good he is from this distance"

Now, to be fair, he has scored 8 free-kick goals over his 230 PL appearances, but I found it hilarious how angry he'd get when he'd ping one into the defender's midriff.

Anyway, back on track, it's a "no" for me

I guess it’s also as much about what they provide off the pitch as well as on it.

There were comments the other day about much Klose is helping Tzimas at the moment. From the outside it’s very difficult to tell what this impact is.

Perhaps the same can be provided by having the right coaching staff, which is presumably a bit cheaper.

Ha yes and corners.

But 8 free kick goals seems above average on purely numbers only 13 players have scored more of them! So maybe he wasn't too bad haha

The way things are going downwards at United, he'd be better off staying there, then!
