Premier League is on the nose to win the additional Champions League places for next season - a 7th or even an outside chance of an 8th place finish could gain a spot in Europe:

Ok so as I understand it, if we were to take the extra CL space, then 6th will get EL.
If the FA Cup winners are in top 6, then 7th will get EL as well.
If Liverpool win League Cup then 8th will get ECL. If Newcastle win League Cup but qualify for CL or EL then 8th will get ECL.
If ManU or Spurs win EL this season & qualify for CL I don’t think that changes anything.
Likewise Chelsea winning ECL puts them in EL.

If it's the same as last year, Spurs, Man U and Chelsea only have a material impact on the number of English teams in Europe if they finish outside the top 8. For example, if Spurs were to finish where they are now and won the Europa league (yeah I know) they'd be in the CL along with the top 5. 6th and FA cup winners would be in Europa as per normal.

If Spurs were to finish Top 5 in the above scenario (yeah, I know), the extra place goes to another team in another country.

Correct.
Liverpool need to win the League Cup rather than trust Newcastle to finish top 6.

As much as top 8 would give us a sniff of Europe

The thought of Bournemouth in the Champs league is disgusting
The thought of Chelsea fans in meltdown at Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest being in Champions League is quite exciting.

Last night couldn't have gone better for England's chances with both AC Milan and Atalanta eliminated at home to leave Italy 5/8.

As a result of City's defending at the end of last week's match where they were at sixes and sevens, England will be 6/7 if they go out.

No English teams in Thursday's Europa and Conference 2nd leg playoffs, but Italy have Roma who are currently 1:1 with Porto.

Thursday morning update.
Obviously Man City failed this season in their world domination taking England down to 6 from 7 starters in European football
I watched an exciting game PSV v Juve where another Italian club bit the dust. Italy are now 4 from 8
BBC note that Bayern Munich & Dortmund are in the same half of the draw so one has to go.
They also note that this season is the 2nd closest ever for UCL places with only a 10 point gap back to Brighton.
So to sum up as it stands-
Top 5 UCL.
Next is Europa League. One spot is guaranteed, the second goes to the FA Cup winners. Again, if the Cup winners are top 5 (or 6) then two spots are allocated.
League Cup winners enter Conference but that's Newcastle v Liverpool. Problem could be Newcastle falling down the league. If they win the cup but finish lower than 6th (or 7th) then no team will enter the Conference from the league. Come on Liverpool.
Man Utd or Spurs winning the Europa League makes no difference to anything. They would get a 6th spot in the UCL.
Similar any team winning the UCL would get a spot but their league position would not be transfered to another club.

My guess is that we won't catch Forest or Chelsea. Which would put us in a mini-league of 5 teams with Bournemouth, Villa, Fulham and Newcastle.

If 8th and higher get "Europe" then we need to finish above at least two of those four teams.

We could obvs finish above all of them or none of them...!

I’d much rather just win the cup TBH

Well put, but where are Man City?
Presuming Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Forest & Chelsea are top 5, that leaves Us with Bournemouth, Villa, Fulham and Newcastle chasing 3 spots, which is as you said.
Quite handily, we play all 4 at home.
My worry is Newcastle winning the EFL Cup and stealing a spot whilst finishing out of the top 8.
