And yes, I know. "Big 6" not top 6. Bit still. I bet Liverpool aren't looking forward to their visit.

Seems strange to regard Tottenham and Manchester United as 'big six'. In playing terms, we can't really include them. I would say Aston Villa are a more worthy candidate at present.

Well if Liverpool have won the league before our end of the season game, I suspect we'll be playing their Under 18s

If only I had put some kind of caveat. And ...

Blimey, 4 of our home wins come as above. The helmets up the 23 have only 2 home wins all season so far. Maybe I will renew my ST after all.

Isn’t this kind of what we already know. We can beat teams that come and play open attacking football, even the good ones. We can’t beat teams who come with a low block and hope to hit us on the counter.

The relevance of Spurs and Man Utd being part of the big 6 is that because of this status they will never appoint a manager who keeps it tight and likes to hit teams on the break.

This is that same old that comes up every so often. We were top 6 although I’ll take 7th this year. We are not 2nd best to anyone. Ok now pass that spliff over

Always makes my laugh when Spurs are put in "Big 6" concerning the League - they have won 2 titles in their history , neither in the Prem, and sit equal 15th in the list of winners behind Huddersfield, Sunderland, Sheff Wed, Leeds & Blackburn. :giggle: Of current Prem teams either Everton (9 titles) ,Villa (7) & Newcastle (4) deserve to be in the big 6 rather than Spurs

Agreed. I also saw a table recently of top flight games. Liverpool, The Arse and Everton were top 3 but the rest was pretty random in places. I guess that is where a lot of willy waving about being a big club comes from. We are well adrift from Palace, and unless they swap divisions with QPR this season, they will overhaul them soon enough.

United and Spurs did both appoint Mourinho in the not too distant past, in fairness. (Not that he fared all that well against us either, from memory)
