Well well well, it turns out Burnley fans are all staunch anti-rascists now that it's one of their players who has alleged that they were subjected to rascist abuse.

I actually saw one of their fans on social media urging people not to jump to conclusions, as after all "Jay Rod was wrongly accused".

Still under the delusion of not proven means innocent.

The comment section under the BBC match report is predictably depressing (or depressingly predictable, if you prefer)

Whereas plenty of Brighton fans believe that "not proven" means guilty.
Have you got any idea of how much courage it takes to report racism or any form of discrimination? For centuries minorities have been told to ignore it, keep your head down, don’t make a fuss, or don’t rock the boat.
Immediately it happened he turned to the ref, with shock on his face. I was there, at the Hawthorns, so saw him react.
Reporting it is ‘encouraged’ by those in charge, as they want to appear to be doing something. Silly slogans, t shirts etc.

When it comes to it, the complainant gets more and more abuse, as the tribal nature of football takes over.
Yes, it takes guts to put your head above the parapet, and proceed with a complaint.
