To be fair, the process is f***ing brilliant.

We have a really decent squad, and the players can perform.

I trust the rest of the process will involve making it happen more often than not.

I have been pleasantly surprised how quickly the manager reacts to problems and comes up with solutions. Not necessarily during matches but between them. He is still learning but since he changed from a possession based game to a more counter attacking one our results and performances have improved. Last night Chelsea had more than double our possession but got a good stuffing.
The tippy tippy stuff we have been playing is hopefully consigned to when we are a couple of goals up from now on. Just loving the speed at which we got the ball forwards in the last two games and the mixing up of tactics. It‘s just Fab.

This is partly a situational thing though. We can’t play rapid counters against teams like Everton and Brentford who don’t commit numbers high up the pitch. I was at both those games, neither had any interest in going toe-to-toe with us.

For me, the difference since Forest, which was clearly a wake-up call, is in the urgency and attitude of the players, not the tactical style.

The Southampton game will be a better one to judge how things are developing, these are the games we’ve struggled with most in recent times.

Agreed. Chelsea absolutely had to attack us, their manager, board and fans wouldn't accept any different, the same as the other big clubs. There is also the element of us raising it against them, due to the 'vendetta' spoken about elsewhere on here. You could see in the way our players pressed them and occasionally left something on them, Rutter did it many times on Cucurella.

If we can keep that level of drive and aggression against Southampton we'll beat them, I also think they'll try and play against us.

Then it's 5 huge (you might say season defining) games against the two teams below us and three above us. If we can't muster up the same mentality against all of them then I'll be disappointed.
