Distinct separate stands, rather than a complete bowl is a big factor, for me.
Yeah, i think that's a good starting point. I suppose a lot is the emotions attached to the place. Stamford Bridge is now a plastic theatre to me. Fulham, maybe that's still a ground. Same with Palace. Goodison, yeah, that's still a proper ground.

The atmosphere pre match at Goodison was great and the Z cars theme as the players emerge made the adrenaline run.
Going to a brand new stadium will reduce their home advantage IMO.

Goodison Park, much better atmosphere and famous old ground.
Hmm, wasn't so good in August, you think the Amex empties quickly if we are losing, I have never been to a stadium that starts full and there are only a few thousand fans left (if that) at 85 minutes

I'm not a fan of Goodison, it has a certain classic architectural appeal but as an away fan I've not enjoyed my experience there. I did however enjoy the comical ending to the game last night, that was an absolute hoot and a fitting end to the last derby there.

As for Bramley Dock I'm looking forward to it, the rake on the stands looks really steep and appears to keep the fans right on top of the pitch if the Everton do actually decide make some noise it could give them a home advantage. Looking forward to visiting next season as their brand of solid but utterly tedious football looks set to stink out the Premier League for at least one more season.

Normally I’d be praying for a blue victory, just for the inevitable online meltdown of a couple of plastic Liverpool fans I know.

Incredibly, though, Everton under Moyes are even more dislikable than Everton under Dyche.
I didn't think that was possible, but it is.

Players disciplined for goading and a melee at the final whistle. Sounds familiar.

Was it a splendid end to a derby? Of course it was, and would have been miles better without VAR. Though there is the consolation of thousands of Liverpool fans clinging on to the hope of it being disallowed.

Hmmm. That great home advantage doesn't seem to have done much for them in the past few years, other than the proximity of the fans to the pitch makes it a lot easier for their fans to invade it for the annual Staying Up celebrations.
