Just after Brian Jones died. I did my paper round in Hastings and got on a train to London. with school friends. (Was back in Hyde Park for Pink Floyd's free concert in 1970 too. )

I was at the Hyde Park Pink Floyd concert too, sitting with a mate on the grass among about 60,000 plus people, a bloke walked past us and I said "Hello Kevin" and he sat down with us - it was a bloke from College - weird or what?

Little Feat were on the bill too. Great.

A rather wet evening if I recall... ironic for that hot, dry summer. Back when The Valley was open on 3 sides. Some lunatic decided to climb one of the (wet) floodlight pylons and dangle upside down among the lasers and orange smoke.

Yes, it was very chilled and people spread over a wide area. I don't remember the sound being very good or loud. I think there are some amazing pics of it around - you might spot yourself (and Kevin!)

This thread has made me feel quite sad!
The first proper gig I ever went to was Free at the Dome with The Sutherland Brothers and Quiver as support. I went with my best mate from school who wanted to take a girl he fancied, and he bought two tickets before he had even asked her! She didn't want to go so he took me instead.
Tomorrow I am going to his funeral. :cry:
